New company getting into the 1:18 game, new F-86 Sabre pics
Admiral Toys
Great recons all around! Boy, WW2 aircraft! Hopefully they will do something new! Their first one, the F-86, is one nobody else has done, so hopefully they will follow suit with a WW2 aircraft.
Although the Dauntless is my hands-down favorite, it is probably down on the market demand. Maybe a Hellcat by Admiral??

I think its funny that people are speculating about "potential" quality control issues of this new company. Give the guys a break. It's not like 21st don't have quality control issues with their planes, and how many years are they in business now?
Nevertheless, if 21st or BBI won't make, or put in the backburner an F-86, (which saw far more combat than the f-104 and more historically significant), I'm glad there's a third party out there willing to jump on the fray.
Now, where's that MiG-15?

I would like to order a pair, but I feel weird about giving somebody my credit card # like that. I'd rather order through BCT where I know where I stand. Admiral toys looks completely legit, but I can't put money towards a possible no-show. I really want to support these guys, too.....

Thank you for your interest.
We have had many request for an A-10 in 1:18; however, I must regretfully admit that at this time we have no plans on producing the A-10. In the near future it will of course be a major consideration. The size and cost of production has been explored. I can say that it is a very large expensive model to produce. Because of its configuration it requires many molds that would not be required for a conventionally shaped aircraft, and with this extra tooling comes increased cost of production. I hope you understand and I have told many who have requested the A-10 that nothing has been counted out.
Please stick with us as we are a smaller manufacturer. As our popularity grows so will our ability to provide the best A-10 in 1:18 you have ever seen. When and if we manufacture the A-10 it will be the pinnacle model in 1:18 at that time.
Thank you again for your interest and time,
Admiral Toys Incorporated
Sounds like we have another hope for the A-10!!!!

Having been a part of smaller companies competing in a marketplace where larger companies thought they had the monopoly, I can tell you that logistically, it's alot easier to deal with vendors when your product line is limited. 21st has such a wide variety of products, and dealing with production of many items at one time tends to bring overall production down, and halt projects you may have in the wings. If Admiral has all their ducks in a row, it's possible for them to crank out new 1:18 faster than 21st and Bbi, and with their listing only 1:18 ac and 1:72 armor, it will be easier for them, provided of course they've got the "wheels greased" to kick out some excellent new, desired pieces. In regards to quality, being able to focus specifically on one scale, and possibly one era of aircraft, I suspect we'll find the quality to be far better than 21st, and possibly Bbi? time will tell.coreystinson wrote:Well, competition is usually good for the consumer, but also keep in mind that 21st Century has been at this business for awhile and have probably worked many of the kinks out of their processes, where-as these guys will be new on the scene, so hopefully the product quality will be up to the high standards they have set for themselves!nfafan wrote: Good that 21C will be less than thrilled.

i want a MIRAGE !

I wish this new company can make either a MIRAGE 3 or MIRAGE 2000 roughly the same size ! both are small mono engine fighter with great hsitory (middle east & France

i'm going to drop them an email too in order to update our wish list ! is there any "amateur" like me ?
I agree. Not when you could produce the F-4, F-15, Tornado, Harrier, F-105, etc...... French fighters don't win a lot of respect.....KAGNEW wrote:that would be nice. really the M-III is not that far out. i love it. but i think they would say not a world wide seller

mind the frenchs
Xcuse this nasty French habit but our MIRAGES kicks asses : ask the migs pilots around Israel ! plus in flight the design is so neat ( in my opinion the MIRAGE 2000 is only second to the RAFALE
) of course i m a huge fan of all the famous american jets and i know that commercialy the mirage is harder to sell but not that much if you produce a nice MIG 21 to put against the F 104 or the future F4 PHANTOM ? and of course all the mirages family !
plus the size could be compatible with the boxes

anyway after the F 86 i want an F 100
anyway after the F 86 i want an F 100 super sabre ... in French markings with shark teeth !

Agree. One would have thought that a Mirage/Kfir would have made more historical sense than an F104.KAGNEW wrote:the French fighters got a lot of respect from Arab and Russa's pilots in Israelie hands. plus an M-111 could be made into a Kifier pretty easy
OTOH, they can get many re-paints out of an F104.
For the US and European market, the F-104 was a good decision. F-104s were used by quite a few NATO countries, and Americans will always remember the F-104 from the movie The Right Stuff. IMHO Producing the Mirage would be a disaster. Hell, most of the people looking at a Mirage on the shelf wouldn't even know what plane it was.nfafan wrote:Agree.
