Great work on both the FW Dora, and the Ju87 G2, Jon.

Even though the canopy framing does look a little thick, a fantastic looking custom.

As JNB stated the frames kind of have to be thick other wise they will be crazy flimsy and fragile.

Especially if the canopy has to operate. One attempt of sliding the frames and it may break in your hands.

That is why the frames have to be robust.

One of the down sides of resin.

I made those as well ( with the frames in the mould ) but have you ever tried using a vacuumed canopy ?

I have , it sucks . So this is what I came up with.

The frame made in resin with a smooth vacuumed canopy that fits underneath.

By doing this you can paint the frames first then install the glass and have the frame function at the same time.

With the vacuum glass only it will never be able to operate.

The moulds are shot anyway . When I remake them , I will try to thin the frames

Maybe next year.

You did it the right way, the canopy works and that is fantastic! it is a little thick but believe me, if you had this big bird in front of you with all of its splendor and its huge guns the canopy looks great! and I am very picky about flaws. If some other modeler who is going to actually buy your kit and follow through with the whole transformation wants it thinner they could get some dry hard clay and make a custom fit base to set under the canopy frame to support it and carefully sand it down alittle, but as PH stated, you run the risk of it snapping during any movement.

I got this last week and when I opened the box I was astonished!
The Goliath was so well made, so detailed I was taken back and marveled at the crisp detail

Painting it was not "hard" but was a bit time consuming due to the fact that the tracks do not roll and cannot be removed so a long sharp brush was used to get in to all those tight little areas. It reminded me of painting 1/72 armor in that regard. I first shot it with primer and then German Army Grey, then white wash, then painted the tracks, the a dark brown wash, then the mud and rust detail, then shot it with model master dull coat to seal it all in. Used a flower stem wire (paint-able) for the wire and scratch made the controller and strap.









I thought what better to go with the Goliath than the Soviet Goliath! So I made one from scratch!!




Yes! the feared Soviet Anti-tank Dog!!



I coudn't resist a reunion of these two great weapons and how well they symbolized the entire war!
The over engineered high tech Germans vs the cold blooded overly simplistic Soviets..



Their all friends now



In fact "Heinz" lets "Ivan's" dog chase his tank!!
