Re: G4
Got my black G4 today. Just a super model, even without the nazi symbols on the flags (just red flags). Nothing broken or missing.
The figs are super plain jane with no articular movement and no arm bans with Nazi signs. At least the driver fits nicely behind the wheel.
I am very happy I waited all this time.

Re: G4
little swastika decals should work for the flags. As for the figures you'd probably have to hand paint armbands on. The shorter one should be usable as hitler...just repaint uniform a brown colour and draw on a little moustache. Could cut his right arm off and raise it in a nazi salute.
I was reading about these cars. They could only go around 30mph. Only 57 of all types were built and they were just used by very high ranking nazis, plus one went to Spain. That means general burkhalter would never have driven in one, which i find personally very disappointing.

Re: G4
I still like the very few ones used for AAA protection. With one MG behind the front seat and one MG at the rear.
That has got to be my favorite vehicle of all time.

Re: G4
yeah that's pretty neat. I may have to end up getting 2 G4's now.
I wonder what colour the two G4's are in the above pics? They're not glossy and it's too light to be black. Maybe panzer grey?

Re: G4
Grey or panzer grey. Hitler's G4s were painted grey after the war started and were known as the "Grey Column".
Re: G4
ah that's interesting. His prewar G4's were a variety of colours, white being one of the most prevelent. He used a white G4 during the parade for the annexation of Austria.
This 1/18 model of the G4 comes in grey as well but i've only seen it available over in europe. It's a glossy grey, so i wasn't that keen on it. I'd probably repaint a white one flat medium grey and then mount a couple of marauder mg 34's on it.

Re: G4
I was wanting to do mine in grey also, but I already have too many unfinished projects sitting around, so I just put it on a shelf with a few SS figures that I was lucky enough to get from some fellow members.
Re: G4
strange to think of Uncle Adolf riding around in a shining white G4; doesn't seem sinister enough.
But from my readings, it was his most common convertible. Perhaps he liked the 'good guy' image the white colour projected.
He had other mercedes convertibles that were black, but not the open topped G4 (though he had at least one black G4 sedan).
Oddly, the convertible G4's he had were equipped with extensive armour plating, just like the sedans. Seems a pointless addition given its open top.

Re: G4
Received my G4 on Saturday. Havent had time to remove from box but I like what I see in the box so far. They really did a nice job on the folding box window cover. thanks again for posting the cheaper price!
