I had to make a bunch of moulds for the Sherman hull I am working on so I cast a few wheels for the side car.

The resin seems to be strong enough to hold up and when I try to move it side to side it is not floppy. What I did is cast the 2 Indy wheels with the spoked wheel.I cut them in half shaved the middel and have them together. That cut out about 3/32 out of the middel to make the tire skinnier.

I think it looks alot better.

Here is the stock wheel with spoked rim.

Here is the cast wheels shaved and put together. White just does not come out. I will give it a shot of gray so you can see it.

The 2 side by side for comparison.

I think this is the way to go. So it will be 2 halves that need to be glued together. I think the shape and profile is were it should be .

Or I could just cast the spoked wheels and you all can glue them on the stock Indy tire.

What do you guys think ?

Pickel, that spoked rim looks mint and along with the cast tire.....I think its dead on. That will give the bike a more realistic look. I know the Indy bike is not an accurate representation of a BMW or any other but these wheels and rims with a sidecar will make it look kick ass!!!!!
Nice going Pickel!

If anybody is interested the Indy bike is about 15.24 scale.

You really can't tell because it is on the small side. I did some scale work and the true 1/18 scale sidecar looked real small. So I did some Kinko enlarging and found out the true size. So I will make the side car to match the Indy bike.

Sounds great Pickelhaube!!!
I'll need a few...last count I had 7 Indy bikes all needing rims, tires and a few side cars. Keep us updated!

Count me in for one!

Have you started to model the sidecar yet?
If so, share some pics.

I too want to know what is included in the 30.00 price?

I started making the tub after about 2 today a little too rough for picks just yet.

As far as the $30 that is cheap cheap cheap for this project.I know most of you have paid only $10 for the bike.

For the $30 like I said you will get 4 sets of wheels. Any other place that is worth $20 alone    and the side car.I will make it so you can mount your Mg -42 on the mount. You will also get a extra seat.

If there is interest I can do an extra kit. The kit will have:

black out light cover
4 ammo cans
spade
jerry can
Mg- 42

If there is interest.

Pickle - How much for the extra kit to go along with the sidecar, it sounds like a bunch of stuff I would be interested in.

Normandy,

Thanks for that link. The model I baught to make my master from has some erregularities that do not jive with the 1 to 1.

There is deatails in the wheels that I need to incorporate and other little nick nacks.

GREAT FIND !!!!!

I am guessing about $10-$15 for the extra parts package.

That looks amazing pickelhaube

Impressive. The thinner tires look better than the fat one on the bike
