I just looked at TheMotorpool's website again and now the 1/18 Phantom is listed as a September, 2008 release.

TODAY, the Phantom had 3 release months: February, March and September.
Maybe their site is having a technical glitch. I'll contact them tomorrow and try to get a definitive answer.

Latest update on the 1/18 Phantom--from Badcat's blog:

"UPDATE ON 1/18 SCALE F-4 PHANTOM AND MIG-21...
21st Century says now that the F-4 phantom won't arrive until late 2008. The B-25 Mitchell will come out probably early 2009 and then the Mig-21 afterwards."

somebody wake me if these things ever show up....

*yawn*

i think it's time i switched scales. Very, very tired of the empty promises and endless waiting... What possible logic is there in announcing planes in early '07 that will not show up for at least 2 or 3 years.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

It was posted on Bad Cat's blog in the form of a comment, by a registered user under the thread about BBI's 1/32 scale phantom. It apparently is not an offical Statement from Bad Cat Toys. I don't know where this poster recieved this information. The Motorpool has now changed the 1/18 F-4's shipping date to 4th Quater 2008, and the Mig 21 is listed as "To be determined." I don't know what logic the Motorpool is using to determine these dates either. This is where the "flow of Information" on Area 21 would really help by minimizing all the conjecture about release dates. When you blow by an announced release date (Christmas 2007 for the 1/18 F-4) It would be nice to at least post an update about it's delayed progress. I do hope that the release dates for these models aren't as distant and bleak as some of the above statements forecast.

Hahahahaha, Grunt, love it. But yes, I'm very confused about these dates. I only started collecting 1:32 about 8 months ago and then 1:18 and now I see the insanity we all face... Hell, why don't we all just move to China, together, work IN the 21st factory, then we'll know EXACTLY where everything is... :D Plus I'm sure we'd get an employee discount.

Downside...

I think we'd all get fired for playing with $10,000 prototypes...

...and we'd be pretty poor.

BUT WE'D HAVE PERFECT PAINTSCHEMES EVERYTIME, ALL THE TIME, NOW WOULDN'T WE?
