Paints for screw holes

Post by Big Duke 6 » Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:55 am

Could someone recommend the paint brand and color to touch up the screw holes.

Regards, BD6

Thanks guys, glad you like it. BTW it was pretty easy, the hardest part was matching paint, I used acrylics which might not hold up to well

now for all those screw holes on the under wing! ha ha ha just kidding

Got my Avenger today. I was pretty set to absolutely hate it when I heard about the holes on the right side. Afterall, they had three years to perfect this thing right? Well I found out that I still like it holes and all. Someone mentioned the strange holes on the top of the wings. I don't think they are lights but rather they are vents for the fuel system in the wings. I've seen simular looking things on Air Force Aircraft many times. Not really sure on this, but it seems logical. I hope in the future they do come out with a Bunker Hill Version, since that was the only reason I bought the Bunker Hill Corsair.

The real problem with the "Korean War" versions is there weren't any three-blade prop versions left in service by then.

Position lights

Post by JimBob55 » Tue Aug 08, 2006 6:02 pm

Way back on page 18...

Ski asked: "I'm trying to figure out what these are. I wanna believe that they are missing nav lights, but my books don't show them. They are both upper surfaces of the wings....."

You're right...I finally found a small reference to them in my TBM "In Detail & Scale" book. They are position lights, color not mentioned. (blue?)

Re: Helldiver prang...great little story, Razor...hope it wasn't the end of these guys' flying career, at least the pilot didn't have to endure the "pilot error" stigma for too long!...it's too bad so many stories like this are often lost to history because, well, there's only so much space in the library & way more participants than authors...thanx for sharing...now, Normandy, if we could only get you to have your father-in-law share some tales with us... :)

Still no Avenger. My AWD only gets worse. Now the Walmart greeter keeps asking me, "your back again". :(

C44,
Thanks! :D Both men recovered to fly again. My friend (the Naval Aviator) also told me he served with Ted Williams. He said Williams was a mean SOB one day and the nicest guy you would ever met the next.

6 to 8 weeks for a new 1:18 plane?...

What is that I hear? - could it be the sound of jet engines?

Timing sounds about right for the evident release of the F-86 and MiG-15.
Warhawker is going to loose another bet

I'm getting burned out looking for the Avenger. I almost gave in and bought from eBay.....almost, but I resisted.

I wanted the Atlantic paint version but I might just wait for the Flight 19 now. As soon as I convince myself that that's the way I will go, then sure as shooting my Wallys will have it.

What is this, the 4000th comment on 100 pages on this thread? Seems like it.

I'll be going down to the LA metro area next week on a business trip. Will use the evenings to scout around for the Avenger.

I found one Atlantic Avenger at the Boynton Beach, FL super Wal-Mart. :D

I am hoping the screw heads on the fuselage and wings are plugged for all future releases. I am not canceling my Bad Cat preorder in hopes they might receive a batch with the plugs installed.

I must applaud 21st on the design & mechanics of the folding wings. It works great and when the wings are extended they are plenty stiff enough. Nice job on a big beautiful aircraft! :D

Bring on Flight 19!
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!
