Now, as far as that model being the Tamiya 1/35 model? I can kinda see where they're coming from...I mean, the paint scheme and patterns are IDENTICAL.

but, these new AG photos do look different. It just LOOKS bigger, to me. I dunno.

yea what pickelhaube said...nice I go away for a bit when 1/18 scale was all but dead... and when I come back all is right in the world again...love how things turn around.
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.
sorry i forgot to add the link...paulpratt wrote:It is. Please check post #83 specifically to get the full poop.uksubs wrote: Is it![]()

That is a response from All-Go Toys. Post 83 is their response.

No matter what it is the pictures (custom, model - magical optical illusion) I just hope both it and the King Tiger finally become a reality in plastic and get offered for us to buy.

I really hope that it is the case, and not just an example of the same old song from an old band with a new name. I have wanted that KT for so long I will hold off jumping for joy till I can actually order it. These same folks dissapointed us alot before.paulpratt wrote:king tiger tooling is complete according to all-go.maritime96 wrote:No matter what it is the pictures (custom, model - magical optical illusion) I just hope both it and the King Tiger finally become a reality in plastic and get offered for us to buy.

All-Go seemed interested in starting up a monthly Q and A gig with us. I'm sure they will extend the same courtesy to SSHQ guys, how can they not? Maybe we can coordinate to make sure we don't have overlapping questions and share answers to make sure we get as much information out to everyone as possible.grunt1 wrote:Thanks Paul for getting the word directly from the source. Hopefully at some point All-Go will be more comfortable posting directly. That would save a lot of grief.

That would make a lot of sense and seems to be the norm for other manufacturers like Hasbro, etc.. Additionally, keeping a log of previously answered questions might cut down on some of the repetition. Since you seem to be in direct contact, what would be the next step in getting a monthly Q&A going?
agreed. It would make sense to run the QA just through Fighting 1/18th as the questions here will be almost the same as the questions asked over there....and many of the questions asked they won't be wanting to answer anyway, as we know, with worries about the competition etc.
It would make it less effort for AG if they just have to deal with one board and thus make them more willing to do it on an ongoing basis.

i never met an airplane i didn't like...
i just read post 83 on the F18th. Surprising that is a real prototype of the jagdpanther. Sure looked like a small scale model to me. Regardless, i'm sure it will be next year sometime before we can buy it.
The comment about the spitfire and fw 190 being the hardest to move: The FW i remember well being a slow seller but i sure don't have the same recollection with the Spit. The root problem in both cases was the 21c trait of releasing too much too fast. 3 spitfire repaints and 4 Fw's all in about the same time periond. The other problem i guess is the Walmart was not the place to be selling aircraft like that, because few that shop there have heard of either of them.
My spitfires are among my most prized possessions...

Reading All-Go's response to the F18 query they say the KT in in the final production stages and the Jadgpanther is in the very first stage of production so I wouldn't look for the Jadg before a year from now, if all production goes smoothly ..... that's a laugh in itself ..... there are always problems.
Could be another Avenger (2+ years in the pipeline) and the mythical Dauntless.
BTW - Didn't I read in the AG site that they are "American made". How is that? Have the Chinese imported our unemployed to work in a Chinese factory and live like the Chinese workers at $1.00 a day????

There is no way in the world that they can convince me that a $100 P-51 repaint would outsell a new Spitfire release at this moment!
That might have been a factor 6 years ago in conjunction with Walmart. But as Allgo has stated they are no longer marketing to retail giants, but rather a smaller collector base. The very people who probably already have several mustangs, both by 21st, and BBI. Their demographic no longer consists of kids walking into the toy section of Walmart and impulse buying the most recognizable airplane.
Allgo states that they want to focus on limited runs, which would automatically deter the problem of large amounts of unmoving stock.
As for FW-190's... release the A model. Following their logic, it's the much more recognizable of the two, and probably why the D didn't go over so hot at Walmart. (Along with over saturation.)
If Allgo is targeting a new demographic, in a new way (online only) they need to adapt their strategies to that new market. 6 year old statistics from an extinct company might not apply.

Myself, I'm having a little problem with understanding why you would say that you are going to release all these new models, yet it may be months or longer before they are out there.
As has been mentioned here and else where, the 1:16 RC tanks don't seem to take as long to come to market, not trying to stir anything up, but it seems a static model would be easier to put in production.
They have shown pictures of a Jagdpanther, but the King Tiger has'nt even been released, would'nt it make sense to at least come through with one model before trying to hype the next one?

Yep. I don't buy it either (if you'll excuse the pun).mountian-man wrote:There is no way in the world that they can convince me that a $100 P-51 repaint would outsell a new Spitfire release at this moment!

Who knows? I think they are a little too embarassed to admit the dog ate their single most valuable asset (i.e. the Spitfire).
