My contact at 21st is sooo great. They did want to hook me up in a bad way. Here is the killer... 21st doesn't have a single avenger themselves! They shipped them ALL. I am sure at some point I may have to get them one!

-Anyway the upside: I am cashing in some of my favors to get flight 19... Not one, but the whole dang set!!!!

Half the time I fend for myself just like the rest of you! It's ok, it helps me to "keep it real" when I finally filled up my Mustang's tank (ford mustang not the P-51) for the 4th time, I got mad and figured I was spending as much on gas as I would to just buy one on ebay. thankfully a member PM'd me and I bought one from them for the cost plus shipping! Saves me another couple hours of looking and another 35 bucks in gas!

The board members save the day again!!!!!

The real question is what will you do with all those aliens from the flight 19 planes?

Valencia Walmart this morning had one Avenger, 4 Corsairs, 4 desert Stukas, couple Mutts, and 1 each of the RCs. But, they were right in the middle of the toy aisle reorg (what a flippin' mess). Unfortunately, nothing on clearance.

Tomorrow I will be heading out on vacation to Hawaii for a week visiting four different islands (Oahu, big island Hawaii, Maui and Kauai). I will be hitting the local WMs on each island to see what they have compared to the WMs on the mainland. Just in case, I will pack an extra duffle bag for any 'souvenirs' that I happen to find. I will keep you posted!
Now, how to convince the wife about all of those WMs side-trips and the extra check in bag, hmm...:-?

I'm going to laugh if you find an Avenger in a Hawaiian Wal Mart as it would be very ironic (though somehow fitting) to find the Avengers way out in the Pacific ocean while they still haven't reached far less remote areas on the mainland.

Alot of the WMs in the area are going through their toy section resets and putting stuff on clearance. Today I found all of the recently released halftracks and mutts for $19, Corsairs and Stukas for $30, and Japanese figures for $4. I didn't pick anything up since I already have all of this stuff and it wasn't cheap enough to buy more for future trades or repaints. Still no Avengers to be found.

I saw a new (old) green m48 patton tank at walmart that wasnt there yesterday, no figure included and with diecast parts- unlike my early one. Its quite hefty like the grey 18th tiger. Dont need two, though.

Stopped at a Walmart (way out of the way) and was surprised to see the R/C M-113's at $19.00 each.. I didn't pick any up, but if they'd had the Panzer IV, I'd have snapped it up..

Hunt Valley WM in Maryland has the sale prices people have been mentioning - $30 Stukas and Corsairs, $19 Humvees and $1 1:144 crack (hehe, I like that description Kim  ). Supposedly someone picked up a whole case of the little guys, as there were a few and people were rummaging (I assume for Shermans).

My bro also reported a large toy section at this (new) Wally but it may just be in prep for the holiday season. He also said Heroscape was on sale and there was a hoard around that section too.

They have the 1:32 FW 190 and the P-47 Dogfighters series.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

I've recently noticed only one new m-48 patton 1/18th tank at several walmarts around here, nothing else new and no more than one- were these only shipped in box one per store??????????
I frequent the stores enough to know that the one I see is not left over from a box of more. Whats up with this????

I went by Walmart today and it is not looking good for me to find an Avenger. I talked to the stock girl, and she was telling me most of the stuff was just put out, and there are no Avengers in that stock. :(

Sabrefan-

You still looking for the Avenger? That is unfortunate to say the least. I feel your pain. I just recently got mine. Seems like most of the board has them now.

Thanks Tko211. I have been looking and looking and no sign of an Avenger. This is really getting to be a drag. :(

DAMN!
Another plane that I missed!
AGAIN!

I can only go to LI once a week, and I dont know where the Centereach Walmart is, so my chances are pretty slim on getting something.
Why is there no Walmart in Brookyln?

WM

Post by digger » Wed Aug 16, 2006 12:37 pm

There is no WM in NYC. Labor laws have them scared straight. They also need a huge space and coupled with liberal local politicians this is almost impossible to zone. I have a feeling there will never be WM in any of the five boros sadly.

Centereach WM

Post by demetrop » Wed Aug 16, 2006 12:45 pm

I live on Long Island and only found Avengers at the Centereach WM, which I believe is a Super WM. The easiest way to get there, is to take the LIE(495) East to exit 62, then go North until you get to highway 25. Go West on 25 for about 4 blocks and the WM will be on the right. Once you enter the parking lot the WM building is way in the back on the shopping center.
