Nice to see you are keeping it up guys...seems that if ever there is a 1:18 scale A-10 released you will all be at about that scale yourselves and able to slide right into the cockpit....manufacturers can take note they have no need to offer a pilot figure with the release...saves a few pennies anyway "

As for the A-10 you can rest assured that we are well aware of the demand from this board for this item, still in the end the decision....... and expense.... is ours

Hope we're making your decision easier....... :D

Hog fact:

The GAU-8/A Avenger Cannon (part of the A/A49E-6 weapons system) dwarfs a VW Volkswagen. An A-10 pilot has two rates of fire to select from: 2100 rounds per minute or 4,200 round per minute. Thats up to 70 rounds per second!! Most bursts are only a few seconds long. 1,174 rounds of 30mm amunition are usually carried in the drum. A complete reload of the cannon system can be accompolished in 13 minutes by one technician using a specialized piece of ground support equipment.

Hog Fact:

The titanium "bathtub" that surrounds the A-10's cockpit represents 47% of the weight of armor carried. Another 37% of the armor carried protects the fuel system with the majority of the remaining armor protecting the 30mm ammunition drum. It is designed to withstand hits from 23mm projectiles and even some 57mm strikes. The "bathtub" is made of massive plates of titanium alloy bolted together and not a single cast. It also contains a multi-layered nylon liner that prevents splinters from entering the cockpit, even when the bathtub's integrity is compromised.

21st or BBI could produce the A-10 named "Chopper Popper" in 1/18 scale flown by Capt. Bob Swain from the 706th TFS and a 1/18 scale BO-105 Helicopter with Iraqi colors. Then we could recreate the Desert Storm combat scene where Capt. Swain mowed the BO-105 down with his 30mm cannon. :D

Went and saw the movie Jarhead last night. The A-10 scenes are small. One scene involved the A-10 with friendly fire and the other scene had an A-10 laying waist to an airfield. Still cool to see it flying.
