There is an awful lot of scotch tape on the plane. Those flyboys were sure crazy.

I'm glad to see a Hellcat its a must have but disapointed not to see an A-10. I'll bet it will be out in a couple of months (the hellcat that is).

It looks ok. Being a "shape" fiend, I hope they work on the cockpit. It's too angular and it's missing the aft fuselage window. Looking at the bottom photo, they may have done just that or it's a 1:48 model. We'll see......

The aft fuselage window was only on the F6F-3 Hellcat. The BBI model looks like an F6F-5 version to me.

I wouldn't count on it. Just about every manufacturer has nixed the idea, though I think maybe we will see a smaller jet from someone.

Hope the Hellcat is out before Christmas. It looks great and I can't wait to get one. I am happy to see a new aircraft being produced in 1:18.

Nice Hellcat! This is what I thought they mystery plane would be. Although I've made the ME-262 as the last plane on my "list" to get, I think I'll make room for the Hellcat given its historical importance and the fact that it had the highest kill ratio of WWII 8)

OMG ITS A HELLCAT FROM BBI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I cant believe what I'm seeing in those pictures. My greatest wish has come true boys. FINALLY a Hellcat. I'm so damn excited I cant control myself, I'm like a little kid at a candy store. For months I begged and pleaded and hoped that BBI or 21st would come out with a Hellcat and surprise surprise BBI is going to come out with one. My confidence in BBI has now been restored. Finally the top fighter in the pacific, the fighter that produced the most U.S Aces in WW 2, the fighter with a kill/loss ratio of 19-1 gets recognized. And its about damn time too. Thanks Mike and thanks to BBI.

I know the photos that were posted is only the prototype but the Grumman Cat looks awsome and after seeing what a fantastic job BBI did on the Marines Dream Corsair I'm sure the finished F6F will look just as great.

My wish for the first paint scheme? The F6F flown by Lt Alex Vraciu, White 19 then a repaint of Capt David McCampell's Minsii III. I'm getting ahead of myself but those are just ideas mind you. I dont care if BBI makes up a fictious paint scheme like Marines Dream as long as I have the 1/18th Hellcat. Thats how bad I want one and now that dream is a reality.

I'm like I said guys excited as hell about this news and I cant wait to get a release date for the F6F because I will be the first in line to buy one.

Finally a Hellcat in 1/18th scale. And its about time.

Thanks BBI.
