Now if only they would just hit the middle of California. Either way, at least we on the west coast can finally claim something new and interesting in the 1:18 world as having arrived on our side first

Black Dragon,
I saw them at the Vista Walmart on University Drive. Top shelf across the isle from the bicycles.

Has anyone found the Corsair and Stuka in Long Island yet?
And the re-released halftracks?

Get 'em, (Tiger) Moth...

Post by c44 » Tue Aug 01, 2006 10:11 pm

Hey, Moth...I snagged the last Stuka & Corsair at one Suffolk County location, and the half-tracks have shown up at two of the local WMs here, so they're out there...although modern stuff stays on the shelf a little longer, you gotta be there early for WWII stuff because somebody's buying them en masse...in fact, I've pretty much stopped reporting sightings here because I strongly suspect I've been aiding e-scalpers more than fellow collectors...best of luck closer to the boroughs... :!:

Thanks for the info, if you see a Corsair and American M3 Halftrack somewhere, can you tell me?
Thanks!

Half track, all gone...

Post by c44 » Wed Aug 02, 2006 11:25 am

Will do, Moth...I was at the Centereach WM this morning & all the half-tracks have vaporized, if I see any more anywhere, I'll post...I've checked 2 other WMs for the new Corsairs, but it looks like I was lucky to get a good one along with a new Stuka with minor QC issues (would have passed but it was the only one I could lay my hands on)...the new Avengers, however, are at the Centereach WM...

I live on Long Island and have been searching for the Avenger for the past 3 days. How many Avengers were at the Centereach WM?

Whooooa nellie.

The Avenger in NY this soon, and even near NYC? Wow. We have some crow to eat after all the bit.....complaining about Wally's distribution system.

Wally could be my new best friend. I guess I have to hitch up the horse and do my road trip thru my Jersey Wallys.......tomorrow, 104 in my back yard means I don't go more than 50 feet from the pool today.

The Normal, Illinois Walmart has their 1/18 vehicles marked down to $19.00 today. This includes the latest assortment with the German and US halftracks. I have been told that anything labeled with a red price tag will not be carried anymore. Bummer on the 1/18 vehicles.

I'm not a plane guy and today, on my tour, besides all the Me-109G's I've seen for the last month I saw a black Me-109E. Is this new?

That's pretty old... I think they first started showing up in 2004. Interesting scheme, though!

Since I cleared Wal-Mart out of S2 Battle of the Bulge the other day when I saw them, they apprantly got more in. The cards on all I saw were a train wreck though. The packaging seemed to have actually seen combat while the figures were fine.

Someone had picked over a lot of it, but the US open coat and 2 Tankers were still there as well as the Mackinaw riflemen and BAR Gunners (of course). The Germans were picked over though and so was the closed coat US guys (bummer, I wanted them most).

I got the last open coat while I was there... I have the entire wave sitting on lay-away with stuff my gf bought though so I have all of them due me. :) I'd picked up stragglers over the week or two since I saw the first case, but nobody seemed buying anything but me... Then a new case is opened and 75% of it is gone before I get there... Weird. Stuff that sat for a couple weeks is now apparantly hot to someone.

Great stuff though, I'm giddy. These are fantastic figures. 21st's best work IMO.

In addition to finding the coveted Avenger at the Milford, DE store, I finally found the BOB2 figures and German crew members. These are new here and I gladly snapped them up. I also found the P-47/FW-190 32x duel sets, expensive for $40!!

The dual set should go for $25 not $40

They had he shelves marked $39.88 for them. Could be a mistake on the store's part....
