Egads! Not that I'm the "Spell Police" but in today's programs I think they should invest in a spell check before they post such illiterate garbage in their auction.

Very embarrassing to say the least.

aferguson wrote:if that paintjob is the actual way it comes, it's not bad. Quite usable. However, knowing Henglong, the real tank you buy won't look anywhere near that good.

If you compare the paint schemes that come on the various HL releases to actual photo's, the schemes themselves are usually pretty accurate. Its just that the paint jobs are not weathered or toned down in any way which makes their paint look much too bright. I have one of the earlier KT releases which has had the paint toned down which I think looks much better than than the way it leaves the factory. A black wash here and there would also help temendously (which I will get around to doing sooner or later). The KT in the pics below has the ambush pattern but just about the same colors and was originally just as bright as the one on ebay.

Guess I should clarify that the tank I have is a Mato, but I think its been decided that there are about 5 or 6 of the 1/16 companies that are actually more or less under the same roof.

hm....well i'm becoming increasingly tempted to get the HL KT, as hope for a 1/18 KT fades and diminishes...

I just noticed that you are going to buy 1/18 Panther sideskirts from PH AND you have a 1/16 King Tiger as well. How do you live with yourself man? Doesn't mixing scales like that make you feel nauseous? :)

Thanks for the pic and info on the paint btw, very helpful.

Sticking with one scale would be like limiting yourself to women with only a specific hair color. Sure could miss a lot of fun!

I have 1/6, 1/16, 1/18, 1/35, 1/32, and 1/72 (hope you are reading this Snake). Never did pick up any of the 1/48 or 1/144. Some of the 1/30 is absolutely stunning, I just don't like spending quite that much on a smaller scale.

so exactly when, if ever, is the Heng Feng Jagdtiger supposed to be released? Anyone know? Any idea of what the price is going to be?

Mato Toys informed me they would not be carrying the Hooben T55 and Elefant. Bummer, that means I'll have to buy from UK or somewhere else overseas:(

That's because Mato Toys is smart.

Goodluck and make sure it's in stock. Hooben will drag their feet making good on any shipments to dealers.

It's a pretty bad attempt at replicating a Sherman. Heck, 21st Century did a much better job.

So you are saying they are not accurate? how so?
Tankduel says he likes his, what is wrong with it?

It's too toy like looking, almost cartoonish. The turret WAY is out of proportion, the mantlet is all wrong, all the detail items (light-guards, periscope guards, etc.) are incorrectly done. Even the VVSS is too big and out of scale but most of us have accepted that and still use it on building early Tamiya Shermans. They have since come out with an all metal item VVSS that looks much better, but it's over $120.00 just to make that area look correct. I mean, if you want a cheap Sherman, go for it. But even compared to a Heng Long it falls way short. Everyone here worries about scale and scale accuracies then just save up for a Tamiya Sherman.

My $0.02: Can't you resolve this through personal messages or another topic so this one isn't spoiled by a cat fight?

Thanks, and I hope this battle of egos ends well.

____

I don't own the Mato Sherman, but have seen and used it at my hobby store. It works great, as far as accuracy is concerned if you bought the toyish Bravo Team M4, there should be no problem with the faults in this product. In fact, if I hadn't exhausted my hobby budged I would get one of these.

I'm out!

I guess I missed what ever was said, Im sorry if I in anyway caused an argument, it was not my intention. I was genuinely curious about the tanks quality. sorry

Its crazy to me that Henglong has never made a Sherman? Whats up with that?

Just listed on ebay Matorro KT, $193 excluding shipping from HK

I know nothin about 1/16, so is Matorro KT a good buy, what is good or not good about it? Is the price listed with shipping reasonable?

Should I hold out for a 1/18 KT instead?

Thanks for any advice, info or help here

these have been out of production for a year or so now. Thre price is steep but not extreme. They could be had for about $150 plus $30 shipping to Canada, in their day. Not sure if this is new production or old stock discovered or what.

From most reports it was a nice model. It will be big. Larger than a 1/18 Abrams (over an inch wider for example) but impressive i'm sure.

Hold out for a 1/18 KT? Good question.....consult your crystal ball.

Thanks Aferg :)

There is another HK seller that has the same KT listed at the same price, that seller has been selling custom painted KTs, could be that they have hoarded these and selling them now.

Difference in retail price now and then is about $43 then, not too overboard but still a lot to pay for shipped. The shipping charge dont seem to be any different from US to Asia so bit dodgy there.

Anyone got a crystal ball to spare?

If anyone did have one spare, you'd have received a parcel in the post earlier today, opened it and found a crystal ball with a note saying "Here's the spare one you're going to ask for"...or something like that......too confusing...

we'd also have already had a post from them, telling Gouchy that there is or isn't going to be a 1/18 KT, before he made his original post (asking about the 1/16 matorro), in which case Gouchy wouldn't have posted his question about if there is going to be a 1/18 KT, in which case i wouldn't have brought up the crystal ball, in which case he wouldn't have received one in the mail if anyone had one to spare...

Temporal paradoxes give me a headache..

Indeed, I was in the middle of typing just such a response until I realised that had I continued, there would be be a point where I would have answered every question ever asked...or not........

Started crying and went for the short answer instead.

Please refer to your crystal ball for my response, saves me the trouble of typing and while you're at it, let me know where did I keep my aspirin, can't seem to find it

And I checked my mailbox, nada zilch zero package so you might wanna send your ball for servicing
