A few additional notes on the two Shermans.
Both hulls were used by the Isreali's. It is the suspension that needs to be different to call it an E8 "easy eight" Sherman. So far no one make an E8 in 1/18 scale. There is one in 1/16 by Tamiya.
The BBI engine hatch opens to show the wrong engine. It looks more like the M4A2's twin GMC diesel then a Ford V8 used in the M4A3.
They both have lots of extra stuff that lets you customize the stowage on your tank. After you remove the stuff and fill in the holes.
In many unit action reports the 105 mm Sherman(BBI's) is refered to as an Assualt Gun and are usually assigned to HQ. It iwas introduced later in the war.
The M4(21ST) version is a combat tank that saw action from Tunisia till the fall of Germany

IDF actually used any Sherman available; 75mm, 76mm (what they called the Supersherman), M4-M4A1-M4A4 hulls, most M-5X had the HVSS of the E8, but not all.GooglyDoogly wrote:Plus 21st cheaped out by not putting a lower turret part....WTH was that?![]()
Plus 21st can't do some of those Sherman-based vehicles.
Some of those need a HVSS suspension, and an M4A3 hull, which the 21st Sherman is not.
Like the Easy Eights. They are called that because they are M4A3E8...all of those had the HVSS. Or the M36.
And all Israeli Shermans (all types) had HVSS.
And it's not really a negative that the BBI Sherman didn't have star markings. It's a historically accurate paint scheme, plus many US tankers paint over those huge white stars anyway, because German gunners use them as aiming points.![]()
If you want, get both, and cannibalize the 21st tank for its gun and gun mantlet, then stick it to the BBI tank.
Yes, 21C would have to do a new lower hull and suspension for an E8, but their existing lower hull VVSS suspension would work for any "Sherman-suspension-based" version except the E8 and the longer-hulled M4A4.

UPC's aren't going to help you much. You need the DPCI #, so you can look them up in Target's price scanner box on the aisles in the store. The DPCI will start "087-06-_ _ _ _"
I am not sure the last 4 digits however, but it will definitely start with the first 5 digits I listed.
Someone around here probably has the DPCI... It will be the same for teh Braley as well though, so beware. It may say there's some in stock, but in reality it's Bradley's. The DPCI will probably show up as "1:18 Vehicle Asstmt" or some such, meaning the number applies to a variety of product including the Bradley and Tiger... Basically any of the same sized item for the same pricetag, from the same company.
Another example is $20 Star Wars vehicles... Unless they're exclusives, they share the same DPCI #. An exclusive will have its own number, while the $20 vehicle assortment from Hasbro will cover a number of $20 Star Wars ships that you can find at Target (and any other store, as they're general release items).
