Hi Everyone:

I like all airplanes too and never have been a particular fan of one air force in my lifetime. I appericate all the hard work all the air forces do to keep their machines flying and in tip top condition.

If I really were forced to pick I'd haveto say my favorite air force jet team to be the Thunderbirds. I love how the red white and blue color scheme on the F-16's really stand out. I also like the Swiss team and though I have never personally seen them perform, heard they do some amazing maneuvers with the F-5 Tiger.

Too many airplanes and too much history in a lot of air forces to dislike any of them, even our hostile enemies. After all, without their efforts, where would we be.

Corey

Back to the topic, my favorite WWII Gerrman aircarft would be the Gotha Go 229A (Horten Ho IX) X-plane. Single seat German fighter-bomber. This aircraft was being readied for flight test when WWII ended in Europe. Powered by two Jumo 004 engines (see Me 262 and Ar234). It was expected to reach 607 mph at 39,000 feet and have a range of nearly 1200 nm.

Here is the picture of an ME-262 captured by the Russians at the end of the war. It was repainted with the red star and used to test the Jumo reactors.

I like the Luftwaffe aircraft and have respect for their pilots. They were, in a sense, more honorable than the soldiers of the SS in my opinion and, of course, some fo the greatest aces of all time were Luftwaffe pilots. While there are several German aircraft WWII I would yet like to see produced, I am not a diehard fan for only the Luftwaffe. I happen to have a soft spot for the RAF and USAAF, particularly because of what they did to some boardmember's precious Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain :P

Any compound word takes the definite article, here it is "die" for famale/subject. The subject is the widow=die Witwe. The modifiers preceed that which they modify, in German.

The above word simply translates as the widow of the Donnau Steam Ship Company Capitan. Long word, yes...but it describes who is involved as the subject.

Whew, :D

Holy freakin' S!!!!!!!!!!   That would have to be a majorly intense airshow!!! I might have to go back to Switzerland to see that one!! Do you know where that airshow is at?

I once had the joy of orbiting an Alpine peak in a Lufthansa 737 while holding for Munchen, so I know it always looks a little more dramatic than it really is, but thos pics are INTENSE!!!
