For $1500 it really should be metal.

For $1500.00 it should be Remote Controlled with firing M.G.s. :D
Now that would be cool and worth the heavy pricetag!!

I bet we see a cheaper version down the road.

Something is bugging me about the price of this, I know it has tons of detail that I crave but for 1500. USD and its mad out of Plastic and its limited.

I hope we will see a cheaper version that’s just as good in detail but not limited. Maybe we all could call write or email the company that makes them and ask for a cheaper version

Uh oh... This is jumping into competition with my Star Wars budget...

I've been trying to come up with my justification for Master Replicas Studio Series prop replicas (X-Wing, Mil-Falcon, Y-Wing, AT-AT) and now Jason has to show me a Spitfire.......

@*$!@&$*&!*#&@*$

Well it's pretty simple really!! :) They will need to sell a bunch at this price before it will ever be possible for them to sell a bunch more for cheaper than this. So if you want it to be cheaper...Buy THREE!!! :P

still plastic - I could build a room to house planes and tanks with that money....

$1500 for that!! Uh, yeah right. It ain't coming from me! There is no way any level of detail is worth that amount. Try to resell it for that.....

Teamski,
Your right ,the only way you would ever get your money back on this is if they make only 10 of them. I think if they make 500 of them they will never sell out unless they are made of cast metal like the FOV Tigers. :?

I strongly suspect all 250 will be sold within a matter of days and most of those will wind up in the UK.

Nice find Jason.
It will be a great collector.
A bit pricey to me as usual with Corgi. I wonder... If I remember well, the HPH WWII fighters were in the same price range, right ? I don't remember.

I've asked a specialized hobbyshop based in Switzerland who have connections with HPH for the prices. For example the Corsairs (F-4U1, F-4U4, F-4U5NL) are around 1600 - 1650 Euros (European VAT paid). All with detailed interiors and engines and fully loaded with HVAR and 500 LBS, 250 LBS Bombs.
For a few bucks more the plane is sold with a spare engine displayed on a stand.

P51-D is approx : 1360.00 Euros.
F-117 A is approx : 1666.00 Euros.
ME-109 (E,F,G,K) : 1306.00 Euros.
But the F-14A Tomcat is pretty pricey at : 5800.00 Euros.

Hey Sicqnus,
Is that a Salamander engine detail I see in the top left photo? Is that in 1/18 scale ? I would gladly pay $1500 for that. That is of course if the wife would let me

From the side in that pic sicgnus, the Me 162 looks alot like the A-10. Interesting.

Hey Tkjaer21,
You know your right ,it kinda does look like the A-10. Those pesky Nazies were ahead of there time in a lot of things. :? Good thing the allies won the war :D :D

You're damn right !
Look at this HE-162 Factory hidden under a mountain :

Remember the Sukhoï S-37 Berkut ?

Look at this Junkers 287 German X-plane from 1945... Yes they had very advanced projects.

The Germans WWII secret weapons :

Missing lots of things like the Arado flying wings or some Blohm & Voss projects but it's worth the look.

You think that looks like an A-10?
Then take a look at this Junkers concept,

Even the cokpit is the nearly same!

It's amazing, what we would have seen if the war lasted a year or two longer.

German designers were something else, pure genius'

i know all the Luft 46 club guys talk about the tank & planes that were on the drawing boards and prototypes.

but the heavy water project was there also so i'm glad it ended when it did.
