Some realistic chance of seeing in the future:
A-1 Skyraider
P-51B/C
Corsair F4U-4 or -5

Less realistic chance of seeing:
B-25 w/ interchangeable glazed or gun noses
F-4 Phantom
F9F-5 Panther

Probably never going to happen:
A-26 Invader w/ interchangeable glazed or gun noses
F-100
F-102
F-105
F-106

Nice thought, but as long as there are enemy who want to see us dead, the former is NOT possible. As for the Mosquito, possible.

My dream is an F4 Phantom in 1/18.

Heres my wish list for 1/18 scale aircraft.

1. P-39 Airacobra

2. KI-84 Frank

3. Hawker Hurricane

4. FW-190A

5. F-82 Twin Mustang

6. ME-109Z Twin 109

7. KI-61 Tony

8. Hawker Tempest

9. N1K-2J Shinden Kai "George"

10. A6M2-N "Rufe"

I know none of these will probably ever be considered except for the

I would like to see some of the larger twin engines in 1/32 and leave the "smaller" planes for 1/18 (P-38, Avenger..small??).

The twins would even make a confirmed ground guy like me sit up and take notice.

1/18 - Dauntless, Hurricane, P-39 Aircobra (both U.S. and Russian colors). Typhoon and the Ruskie IL-2 tank killer.

Ground - KT (both turrets), CCKW (about 30 versions), support vehicles (tugs, wreckers, bridge layers, trailers), towed artillery, Prime Movers - any kind wheeled or tracked, and finally, another AA piece - 40mm Borfors, or German multi 20mm mounts on trailer or in a truck (Opel or 1 ton or bigger half-track or tank chasis).

Too much to ask? How about a "gentlemens agreement" from manufacturers not to step on each others toes and produce the same plane or vehicle. That only hurts the collector with great interest but shallow pockets. I know that is a dream, but

Well, most of my big wants are up there. I agree with my fellow wingnuts that the Aircobra (P-39), the P-51 B model, B-25, A-10, DH Mosquito, Hawker Typhoon, and Hawker Hurricane are all must haves as far as aviation is concerned.

On the armored front, the Priest, KT, and T-34 would be nice.

But, my two cents as to what I would like to see, and have yet to see mentioned:

Me 163 Komet

Kettenkrad
Aaron

Thank you. The question was which AC (one) would you like to see. It's hard to get an idea of what would be really popular when people list 6 choices or pick for other people...

A P-40F/L, a P-38F or G, or a P-51B/C. Any of the above would do fine.

OK, P-39 Aircobra is U.S. and Ruskie colors.

One tank?

OK, KT, either turret....hey, I'm easy

One softskin?

OK, CCKW, open cab, short bed.

O.K. if I can only select one, it would be The P-39 Airacobra hands down. I originally listed 10 aircraft just in case companies are actually paying attention to this thread. That way even if my number one pick is not considered maybe my number two or three would be. But yes, I would definitely love to be able to buy multiple paint schemes of the P-39 Airacobra. I would love to buy one with a captured nazi paint scheme even if the one listed below isn't 100% correct, check it out.

And check out all the U.S., Russian, French, and United Kingdom offerings as well.

I can picture an 1:18th scale P-39 Airacobra in my mind. How cool would that be with its tricycle landing gear, and how about a removable panel to expose its rear mounted Allison V-12 engine. Now that would be a awesome model. :D

:D Thanks, wouldn't it be nice to have a broader selection in 1/18 scale aircraft? I still like mustangs and 109's but they weren't the only aircraft used in WWII. I know they are more easily recognized by the general public, and therefore appeal to a larger group of buyers, but if stores like Wal-Mart just throw them on the clearance racks anyways doesn't that mean the general public doesn't really account for the majority of sales to begin with? Lets face it, 1/18 scale aircraft are not cheap to begin with so I doubt some mom or dad is going to buy their kid one as a toy, thats what G.I. Joe and smaller scale aircraft are for. I always felt 1/18 scale aircraft were more for adult collectors, so lets hope the manufacturers are actually watching our threads.

More tanks!

Post by markecho » Tue Jan 02, 2007 6:59 pm

I usually don't post in this kinda thread...you know wish lists, but from an armor fan...I am pretty sick of how many planes you aircraft lovers get
and how little tanks we have gotten.
How many times has the P-51 been re-tooled..and how many times has our lonely old Sherman been repainted??? - Frustrating.
But I think toy companies thrive on re-paints...

...not to get into an arguement but I would definately like to see more tanks...WWII and modern. And when I speak of armor I mean tanks - I am not sure what is considered armor..but I don't consider half-tracks and hummers armor...to me they are vehicles. In that department we are doing grand!

(none of these are my images)
What about all these?..remember?

And I know this is probably out...but has been on wish list for years:

Tool you gotta sell your mold to 21st or B-A-R !!! :D

That is all I have to say about that...well not really....
It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

I would consider any tank or armored car or armored half-track as "Armor"

I'd even broaden the catagory to include vehicles like the armored Humvee's and the earlier "hardened" Jeeps and duece & a halfs that had field mod armor added, but hey, that's just me.

If they give us a Mi-24 Hind (preferably from the C model onwards) then we'll have both flying and armor in one package! :P

"Armor" used to be just tanks and any (fighting) vehicles with a decent thickness of metal between the occupants and the Bad Guys outside, but since the development of things like kevlar, applique and bolt-on Ceramics the line between real armor and 'non-armor' has gotten a bit blurred. :?
Not sure I'd class a HEMMT with skirts as armor anyway, but we could do with some more support vehicles from all eras, and we need a lot more Modern stuff in general (I mean seriously, only a congresscritter really thinks they can get away with calling the M113 a 'modern' design!)

I'd like a decent (plastic) Merkava 3 - admittedly the scope for paint schemes is a little limited but it would be really useful for conversion to a nice-looking GravTank...

Hey now there's a funny thought - maybe we could have some science fiction vehicles in 1/18th! Wouldn't nobody be able to criticise the accuracy there, and the manufacturers could make almost anything they wanted since there are few of us qualified to disagree!
I seem to recall the cross-winged fighter from those movies (Lucasfilm copyright police get upset if you "misuse" trademarked names without their permission! ) was about 30" long so not much bigger than the Me109...
Grav Armor and Civvies, wheeled or tracked vehicles for Frontier use, horses for really-out-on-the-edge frontier use (when was the last time you saw an infernal combustion engine reproduce? Giddyap, Neddy!)

Hmm, wonder who'll be first to do a gravshooter armed with (nonfunctioning replica :( ) fusion cannon and rapid-fire gauss gun accompanied by a squad of battle armored infantrymen..?

In NYC we have laws against fusion cannons, even replica's.

But gauss guns are OK, we have alot of gauss here.

Ha I used to set up my GiJoes in the backyard and play they were under attach from the ASP. Id dig a small hole - fill it with rubbing alcohol and throw some toothpicks or dirt on it add a blackcat - it would smoke a good bit after the pop as the alcohol burned off.
