I've been jonesing for a US North Africa P-40F from the get go. That would be a sweet model to do a retool with.

Heres a poster of the launch of P-40F's during Torch.

I can not recommend this seller, though.
I had nothing but problems with him.

Very cool! I bet those guys were shaking in their boots as they rolled down that flight deck!

They didn't roll very far, they were the very few that got a cat shot in a Warhawk!

What a ride! 8)

My Elem school prinicpal was a P-40 pilot in WWII and was a part of operation Torch. We got to see B&W film of the P-40s flying off the decks and got hear wonderful stories of flying over North Africa.

I got the Pearl Harbor p-40 number 316 today! I have not taken it from the package but from what I can tell she is a clean, classic olive green beauty! The box art on this is pretty sharp in person, same as the flight 19 box art. Though I doubt any of the boxes will last long! These have to be assembled and put on the flight line! 8)

The paint scheme has a nice subtle weathering to it. It's a nice touch and not too heavy handed... just right in my opinion. It makes it look like it has some hours flown on it.

Not to derail the thread but to provide some reference for you all when you get your new amazing looking P-40Bs... here's a REAL Pearl Harbor P-40B Warhawk that we're finishing up on her restoration (her first flight since March of 1942 was last week)! She was at Pearl Harbor the time of the attack.

P51

Very nice shots of what looks to be a lovingly restored plane, I can almost smell the fumes from all the way down here.

Wow, it looks like new!

By any chance, do you have a video of it?
I would love to hear that Allison :D

Tko, can you post some photos of the P-40 and Avenger?

Thanks!

That is nice. It must be nice to get a chance to restore a P-40B or any other WWII plane.
