My thoughts go to include wars/conflicts that the US was not involved in as well as those they were, but that US built planes were involved in (assuming it is a US built plane). Take the T-28 for example. It was primarily a trainer for the US, but did see combat service in Southeast Asia with the VNAF and the "Secret Wars" in Laos. T-28s were also supplied to the Congo by the CIA to support the Moise Tshombe regime. The T-28 was also used by the French in Algeria for close air support roles. Again T-28s were used in the Phillippines during some coups as dive bombers. Some of those may be a stretch, but I guess that depends on your definition of war versus conflict. Plus how many T-28s do you see civilians flying? I don't think it's a T-28, but that's just an interpretation of what you could put in the blank.....

Funny you brought the T-28 up. I saw one fly over my house yesterday. It was here about two weeks ago, and at that time I saw it at the airport. Great looking plane.

That a boy Ski! NOthing quite like being able to light up a Jerry position outside the Falaise Gap with some serious air to ground support.

A corsair would be such a bad move. Between the 2 makers all the great schemes have pretty much been covered.

As for your list of not likely to be made.... Funny thing is I have seen almost 100% of the list on the drawing boards at 21st!

They review and debate so many airplanes each time they are aready to pick a new plane. I have had a soft spot in my heart for the big brit Typhoon in 1:18 myself. Who knows at this point! So far I know of only 1 of the new 1:18 airplanes slated for 07. I am sure there are a couple more in there that I don't know about yet! 07 product is already underway.

Also I spoke with 21st today and I think they might be ready to talk about the Me-262 project in the next month or so. Gotta clear it with management first

skyraider

Post by supersonicfifi » Wed Sep 06, 2006 2:33 am

the skyraider would be awesome in SEA camo and sandy rescue weapon load ! (to rescue any downed 21st F 104 !!!)

The skyraider is absolutly impressive and i disagree all the people who find it ugly ! it's quite the opposite in a kind of show of brute force (like a Mac truck !!!! beautyful in its ugliness !)

There is a very good book about SANDY's missions in Viet Nam , full of real action : "cheating death" ! you will change your mind about this airplane !

definitiveley a must in our scale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A-1 or P-39. Either would give me a warm fuzzy.

I would look forward to a WildCat to compliment the Avenger & Corsair along with the probable release of the HellCat.

Four WWII carrier planes. Yea baby... bring it on!
:D
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

I always liked the idea of a Wildcat, but I wonder if the landing gear might give a manufacturer more grief than the folding wing. :?:

I have always thought the gear on the F4F would be a pup too. But, I would ove to see one. As well, I am a big fan of the P-39. It is just so cool. But, of the list up there, I have to make the Typoon my number one pick.
