New Dodge release?
Stopped by my local WalMart in Bellingham and found the toy department clerk discounting 21st stuff. They were discounting the RC M113s down to 30.00 each. I found the new dodge truck and they also discounted that one also. I grabbed the only two I could find in the store for 12.97 each. For a store that still only carries the old Motorworks 190's at full price, I was amazed, and still am.

Wow, what a great find. THe only items on the shelf here are TONS of 190's and P-47's, more marines than than entire invasion force, and the ocassional Sahara figure. And all, of course, at full price.JOC wrote:Stopped by my local WalMart in Bellingham and found the toy department clerk discounting 21st stuff. They were discounting the RC M113s down to 30.00 each. Verrrrry nice
A beautiful addition to our vehicle fleet, with lots of potential for diorama drama. Thank you for the great pictures!

I'm with you on that! But with the track record with WalMart, I'll be VERY surprised if I find these. We never have had the Bob vehicles, Japanese, Spitfires, Stukas, etc etc. Still lots of 190s on the shelf, though!Moth wrote:Damn I want this truck!

A dealer told me they can't get the WC51's until four to six weeks from now....21st is catering to Wally and leaving the small retailers and their customers out in the cold, IMO.
yup...
This is the current trend - I'm still waiting for one small retailer to say one definitive thing about the new bbi figures.A dealer told me they can't get the WC51's until four to six weeks from now....21st is catering to Wally and leaving the small retailers and their customers out in the cold, IMO.

On the other hand are the Etailer exclusives like the German 104 & the PH zero. I guess what goes around comes around.

COOL ! ,.....This is the original 1st.issue, WWII M-51 Dodge "Weapons Carrier".,....I've probably already passed this up at W-M, thinking it was just another "Command Car" ! ...I'm going to have to do some more recon in my AO,...again now. I'd like to have this (the real-thing) vehicle to drive around in. The Korean version of course, there's hardly any original WWII's left, except in museums. I almost bought one of these about 15-yrs.ago for $2,500 bucks, camo too !
,......The Army's version of a "pick-up truck" ! ,....Good thread BTW.

There is always whatever you want available to collectors. Currently there is one WC-52 (with winch), totally restored and mint condition available but as usual you pay for the restorers work. In this case $20,000.
WC-51's are always available with prices rangeing from about $2K in rough shape up to around $10K in decent running and looking shape.
Parts are always available from a couple of commercial dealers and thousands of collectors like me who have parts for vehicles they no longer own and guys want so they advertize, in our magazines or on the net. My son found an artillery rear signal light this week in our garage. What do you do with a brand new, never used part for something odd and with limited demand. I put it on a Jeep site and sold it in 20 hours. Whatever you need is available.
Now that only leaves half a garage full of parts. You never know when you'll need a new GPW fuel pump, a new Dodge PTO, a brand new canvas top for an M-37 or a complete tow bar fitting anything up to 5 ton trucks (this monster weighs about 200 lbs). Oh, and by the way, at least one more cannon light, etc, etc. You never know
By the way, the cannon lights were for my 57mm Anti-tank gun which is long gone to live at another house. The guy that bought my light has seven cannons, but since he is in LA, who knows? His cash was good.
I still want my 21C WC-51.

The M-51 I was going to get then, for $2,500 was in excellent condition for it being manufactured during the 50's,..belonged to a fireman, who only drove it in parades. A Korean War Vet, who lived on a farm here, bought it before I had a chance to go to the bank,....So it did at least, went to a good home.

Are you sure it wasn't an M-37? The M-37 started manufacture in 1949 and was replacing the WC-51 & WC-52, when the Korean war started. When the war started the M-37 was the standard 3/4 ton but like the M-38 and M38A1 Jeeps they were all in process of replacing WW2 Jeeps, 3/4 tons and Duece & a halfs but WW2 stocks of all those trucks were in Japan when the war started and were rushed to Korea for use.
The M-37 is similar but quite a bit different and was used as the standard 3/4 for 30 years. No other truck was as tough and used by as many units as the M-37. I always said the in compound low and four wheel drive my M-37 can walk up a wall. I never actually did that, but I did tow a broken nine ton half track a half mile out of woods and I towed a 1 1/2 ton Dodge which was towing the same broken half track up a steep hill when the 1 1/2 ton Dodge overheated on the hill. Wish I had a camera that day, three vehicles chained together and me pulling the parade.
A picture of my M-37 is here:

The WC-51 is nice and neat, but for work and fun there is nothing like the M-37. Only stuck once and that's when my son drove into a well and was vertical when we went and got a dozer to pull him out.
Now, what were we talking about? Oh, I remember, 1/18 21C WC-51

HAHAHAHA !! I'M not sure if it actually was an M-37 TTT.,...It was a long time ago and I can't remember all the details or what year it was actually made.,....But nice pic's of it and the WC-62 pulling along that 57mm. Your pic' of the M-37 looks like the one I was going buy though.,...BTW, nice pic's of your TOYS too !
,.....P.S. The pic' of your 1:18 toys on your shelf,..especially the one that looks like a "Bradley" or APC,..looks like a custom job w/ an M-4 "Sherman turret". Could this be !

I just tried to put a figure in the seats of the Dodge WC-51 I got today. Unfortunantly, there is not enough leg room to accomodate either a BoB series MB Driver or the S1-style driver that came with the WC-63 truck. The lower half of the legs are easily removable from the BoB Driver and then the figures fit in nicely.

I KNEW IT!! We get a neat new piece of armor, and the fricken soldier can't even drive it?! No wonder it doesn't come with a figure! They knew he wouldn't be able to SIT in it anyways!! SHEESH!!! What a BIG disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!tmanthegreat wrote:I just tried to put a figure in the seats of the Dodge WC-51 I got today. My Webshots has pics of both the 21C M-113 APC and on another shelf is a 1/18 M-2 Bradley. I have at least one of every vehicle 21C made in 1/18 and 1/6 except for the 1/6 21C Bradley.
Now I'm not sure I will ever get the 1/6 Bradley, too expensive and too big. It hurts to say it, but I'm running out of room
I counting on room for my 1/6 Opel Blitz (in the mail), my custom 1/6 WC-52 (in construction) and my two 1/6 White Half-tracks (somebody will make a reasonable one this year). I plan ahead
Sorry to hear about the WC-51 having "figure problems".....that means I'll probably only get three or four.
