Made it to the show on Sunday. Have to say I was shocked how small it had become from past years! It must have been about 1/5 the size-with many large vendors missing.
That being said, I saw the Merit booth including the 1/6th Pz IV, Harrier, 1/16th artillery, and newly painted 1/18th Me-262, Sabre and Me-109. Nothing much else new and all of these have already been seen.
Also, still no firm time frame when the Harrier or the FW 190A will be released----beyond 2014.

 That tank is massive!!!! Looks to be all metal construction or some of it anyway. Does it fire real shells? lol Also, I see they revealed one more new item for the Harrier jet. An MK-82 "Snake Eye" bomb to be exact. Sweet!!!! So whats the deal with the Heinz mustard containers under the wings? Looks like new armament I haven't yet seen before. Mustard gas bombs perhaps. lol Thanks for posting the pics Norm.

I want that 1:6 Panzer IV :D Guess I should have gotten the DML 1:6 scale Sherman in advance so it would have a better adversary than my 21c M-5 Stuart, but that Panzer IV is pretty spectacular. I had no idea Merit was thinking that big.

If your a big movie buff like me "Hot Toys" is producing a lot of neat products in 1:6. Take for instance the 1989 Batmobile side by side with JSI's F-14.

1:6 is indeed an impressive scale... While I've collected it off and on since 1993, its really only been in the past few years that my collection has exploded. I'm more a fan of the WWII military items than I am the movie stuff, though some of the "Hot Toys" items do indeed look cool. 21c and Hasbro before them did a good job at making 1:6 vehicles which were affordable in their day, but some of the most impressive prebuilt work has lately come from Dragon, DID, and a few others. The Dragon 1:6 tanks, guns, and other vehicles are top-notch. Our beloved 1:18 scale is practically a dead horse compared to what continues to go on with 1:6 scale.

To me 1/6 is that next giant leap up from 1:18. Pretty much the closest purchase you can make to almost obtaining the real thing without having very deep pockets to afford it. :D

Was this harrier just a bad dream - or is it really going to happen - the silence is deafening.

I remember when folks would knock 21st for making an announcement........and then nothing.
Some things were produced and others never saw the light of day. It the nature of the business.
I'm hopeful the modern collectors will see the JSI/Merit Harrier.
