Re: Pay for a 1/18 scale Ho-229 ? Input needed.
Pickelhaube, Have you had any more thoughts on this project? I know you've got a lot going on, but the more I research this aircraft the more intriguing it becomes. I want one!....maybe two. I'm thinking a Nachtjager version to go with the 21st Me 262 red 10.
http://www.luft46.com/mmart/mm229n6.jpg I'll take two kits.

Actually I THINK THAT I WILL DO THIS !!!
But I need to finsh the T-34 and Howitzer.
I plan to do the GAZ series and the Ho-229 after the howitzer.
I am not sure which one first. When I get close I will put a post on the subject and see which one YOU GUYS WANT FIRST.

OK
I have made a decission of what I am going to do.
I am going to bump the 105 Howitzer in order to do the Ho-229.
AFTER THE T-34 HAS RAN IT COURSE. That should take about 2 weeks.
That 2 weeks time will allow me to take deposits on the Ho-229.
I WILL START THE HORTEN HO-229 IF I GET AT LEAST 10 DEPOSITS OF $50 EACH.
I WILL NOT WASTE TIME WITH A LOTTERY. THAT WAS A BUST.
A lot of you guys do not wish to put up money until you have something to see first. I understand that .
FOR THAT REASON YOU GUYS WHO HAVE PUT IN YOUR DEPOSITS CAN GET THEM BACK AT ANY TIME AS WORK PROGRESSES.
IF YOU PAY WITH MONEY ORDERS YOU WILL GET THE FULL AMOUNT BACK . IF YOU PAY VIA PAY-PAL YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK LESS PAY-PAL FEES.
So I guess that is a money back garantee.
So this project now falls back on you guys. If I get the 10 deposits this will be done. If not this project will go back to the wishing well.
If this project goes back to the wishing well , I will simply go back on the Howitzer.
.

Let us see what happens.
Thanks Guys for all of your support,
Matthew

Re: Custom 1/18 scale Ho-229 Deposit ?
Hey Matthew,
Just sent you $50 deposit via Paypal.
But this will have to come in at $450 tops, fully painted. If you have to farm out the painting to TKO or somebody else that is fine.
If the final cost is more, I am out. I am sure you understand.
I hope everyone else "puts their money where there mouth is"
Take as much time as you need to get this done well.

I wish I had money. :\
But maybe if this "Takes off " I will buy one. What do you think the unpainted kit will be?

Re: Custom 1/18 scale Ho-229 Deposit ?
Which pilot figure do you guys think will look best with Pickels Ho-229?
The only ones I can find online are the two Stuka figures and the Me-109 pilot.
I'm kind of leaning towards the Stuka pilot (goggles on).

The book that I have has a line drawing of a pilot in the cockpit. He is wearing a typical flight helmet w/ goggles.
So the Stuka pilot should be a winner.

The 262 Nachtjager pilot sounds like a good choice too.
So we're up to 6 guys so far, Looks like this wing will fly..............This is going to be one of the coolest 1:18th aircraft ever!

Yep 6 guys.
Still need 4 more for this to be a go.
The T-34 molds are almost done and production on that project should start on Monday.
So next week will dictate if this is going to start.
If I do not get the 10 I will either give back the deposits or get back on the 105 Howitzer.
If you guys want this , now is the time to submit your deposits.
Again I will take the deposits up till NEXT FRIDAY FOR THIS TO BE A GO.

Well with 24 votes between the first two choices in the poll, I'm sure you'll get the four needed deposits.

PH, this may sound a bit nit picky but.........would I maybe just be able to buy the centre section? How much work/resin (money) would I save (Percentage or fraction wise) by just buying the centre section?
The total cost (plus shipping) sounds like it's gonna be to rich for me, but if I could just get the centre section, I would think about putting a $50 deposit down.

Hmmmm....
I need to think about this. I have abandoned the idea of doing the center section only. I was thinking of doing the configuration of how the Americans found the original.
I am not sure how you can make your own wings to fit the center section.
But for now I can say yes I can sell the kit minus the wings but have no idea what the savings cost would be. That can only be determind after construction is well under way.
