No in kit form.Not painted. But in reality I do not think that the top was camoed probably just one color and the bottom would be basic sky blue.

Makings would be the white hallow crosses on both sides of the wings.

The the splinter camo would be cool though.

If you delete the landing gear that would knock about $25- $40 off of the price for the winged version.

You could knock off $100- $150 if you go with the center section only.

Any more interest ?

But I would need it to be painted by somebody with better skills than myself.

If there was a member[ maybe TKO], who would be willing to do this for myself, and possibly others, that would be a further selling point. Perhaps if you could arrange for a modeler to finish these properly, people would be more likely to get one. But the price goes up with that as well.

So, I am interested, but only in a finished model, that can be shipped without ridiculous charges, for quite a bit less than $500. This is just my opinion, but I think that this may be the consensus for the majority of people interested in this. But, I could be totally wrong as well.

How cool would a 1/18 Ho229 be.

Hey if you can get the kit down to $250 Ill take three

no r/c kits of the Ho-229 at this point. If one were made it would probably be too big for 1/18, based on my limited knowledge of r/c plane aerodynamics. In one were made to 1/18 it may be fairly mis proportioned as the intakes and exhausts would have to be enlarged greatly.

If someone made a glider version of it, that could be made pretty accurate looking, but i doubt that will ever happen.

In the pic you can see it's not huge around the size (as one of our members pointed out) of the 21st P-38 Lightning.

I have been talking to Jnewboy about the Horten for a while now.

I really want to build this . The Horten will never see the light of day in 1/18 scale unless a customizer were to build it.

So if there is real interest in this please let me see a show of hands as to who would want this in kit form or built up.

The kit will be in the $250-$300 range built up will be more.

Any serious interest in this ? Because I will start this after my 105 howitzer.

The project after the howitzer will be the Ho-229 or my HUMVEE upgrade.

You guys are the deciding factor.

But I do understand that there are a bunch of fellows off of the board who want this as well.

Seriously please sound off, at least say if you would prefer the kit form or would need it complete (Built, Painted & Detailed) if you were to get one.

I would really love to get one of these. And I would put a deposit down on it as well.

However, the price is an issue. I would want it painted, and assembled to at least the point of 21C, and BBI. And honestly I am not willing to spend more than $400 to get this model. Just being honest, as I don't want to raise false hopes on a pre order and then back out.

If PH could do this model, and somebody would assemble it, and properly paint it for this price, I am in.

I am very interested in this, but the price would have to be in the $250 range. I would also be curious what kind of armature you would be using to prevent wing sagging.

Are you saying $250 for the kit or $250 for the whole thing painted ?

As I stated before I am going to put a spar in the mold as I pour the wings.

Probably either a brass or aluminum tube that will slide into the center section.

Kind of like the r/c plane's removable wings.

A kit is fine for me, I can build, with 2 little kids time is my problem.

Really great to see the dialogue on this project! This is the way this forum should operate, and it's a lot more comfortable to be a part of it when "positive" is the key word.
Like Snake and others, I can only go with prebuilt & painted models as I lack the skill, time & patience (OK, mostly just the skill & patience) to build from kits.
$300.00, it seems, has become the newest "ceiling" for pricing prebuilt 1/18th aircraft...Probably where pricing will be when, and if, 1/18 aircraft reappear in the market on any kind of regular basis.

This project looks like it has allot of interest and that is good, $300 for the completed thing is not likley though as the hours of work involved and resin needed Pickle might as well work part time at the golden arches. If only we had a factory in china.....

What do you all think about paint schemes for the Horton, Dark green/Olive splinter? all Olive? White outline swastikas or none?
