Which aircraft to produce
I will one up you and say Tempest MK V or MK II. Probably the best medium/low altitude allied fighter in the later part of the war. Definitely one of my favorites.ostketten wrote:Hawker Typhoon.

No argument from me there, either one would suit me just fine...Airacobra wrote:I will one up you and say Tempest MK V or MK II. Probably the best medium/low altitude allied fighter in the later part of the war. Definitely one of my favorites.

Considering the economy and the fact that a lot of our companies are reforming, or just starting up I'll first make a conservative list of planes I'd like to see mass retailed/e-tailed at a REASONABLE price:
FW-190A
A later Mark Spitfire
P-40E/P-40N
P-51B/P-51C
F4F Wildcat
SBD Dauntless
P-39 Aircobra
P-47 (re-tooling)
Me-163
Realistically, sometime in the more
DISTANT future:
F-4
Mig-21
A-10
B-25
AV8-B Harrier
longer shots, but I would buy:
F9F- Panther (please, please, please!)
Hawker Hurricane
Fairey Swordfish
Tempest or Typhoon.
Mosquito
Me-110
Val
Kate
Mig-3
Yak-9
P-80
He-162
A-6
A-4
Ok, now for the stuff dreams are made of...
F-8
B-26!!!
He-111
Arado 234
Do. 335
F-100
F-105
C-47/DC-3
PBY
He-219a owl

"Considering the economy" is exactly why I don't get anyone thinking they can start up a new aircraft line when the primary medium is very expenive rtv and resin. and then talk about selling them cheap. Unless that is one has free access to an injection molder and all the materials and had the molds made for free. Plus working with resin ain't exactly "pour and forget" and it comes out perfect everytime. Some of the guys that think so will likely find that out the hard and expensive way. Molding little pieces or flat pieces is one thing, molding complex curves and intricate details is whole different ball game.

Ah, I must apologize for reading the thread carefully enough! The above list was made with large scale manufacturers in mind...(JSI, AllGO,BBI) Custom work is another story... labor intensive and expensive.Considering the economy and the fact that a lot of our companies are reforming, or just starting up I'll first make a conservative list of planes I'd like to see mass retailed/e-tailed at a REASONABLE price:
However, smaller models like the He-162 might be ideal for custom kits and builds.
I think there may still be life in the air racer market, perhaps a different model of Gee Bee... and WW1 subjects. Small but popular. WW1 subjects could also open doors to alternate materials aside from mold injection and resin.
