Welcome Jim,
You really need thick skin sometimes to be on this forum.
I look forward to an insiders view in our beloved XD world.
In the past we had some other repesentatives from other manf. companies post here but some members pi$$ed them off and they left.
Take things with a grain of salt and hang around.

You forgot to include the disclaimer: "Any resemblance to actual production models — intended or otherwise — is purely coincidental."thatf14guy wrote:jim what can you tell us about jsi's next cat, and what of those pics of that awesome looking iriaf tomcat, who did that-you, if so man it looks simply amazing!

Eh, no worse than the CIA Huey, claiming the Zero would be a non-seller, 2 Starfighters that look almost identical, a gazillion 190D's that hogged wm shelves for months on end that req'd a contest to get them bought up, Yes most of us know who you are bucking for.heiss66 wrote:Welcome Jim from Merit.
Your comments should add just the amount of humor needed to brighten an otherwise dull day. You can start by telling us a story, you know the one about the spotted cat. World tour? Reminds me of an Obama stimulous package. The worst product release in the history of 1:18 aircraft, yet out of the failures several small cottage industries have sprang up from this disaster. Just think, if your next release is worse than the last our whole economy may recover.
This should be really interesting.
Welcome aboard Jim, try not to get ran off too soon. You'll notice not too many in the biz post here much, if at all. But obviously some hide behind a pseudonym. Most of us here understand you didn't personally, nor your company, paint the spots on the toms so hang in there. Hey, you guys are still in business too huh.
I really can't see one company publicly bashing another being very productive, for anyone.

Who knew those CIA Hueys and 190s would be going for $200...
well
Oddly I see plenty of old XD going cheap - S1 figs, playsets, Corsairs, Stukas..
Hello there Jim!
Glad to have you aboard, I hope that we members of this forum here and Merit can develop a lasting and mutual friendship, for the sake of and continued growth of this hobby
As with all friendships and when so many personalities involved within the group, there will be good posts, bad posts and posts in jest.
Do stick around

Re: Hello from a Newbie
Welcome aboard Jim. I would be curious to know if Merit has any plans in the future to produce any new or additonal aircraft in 1/24 scale. I'm a big fan of the Merit P-51 and would love to see a P-47 Thunderbolt, or just about any other WWII fighter in this scale someday.Jim@Merit wrote:My name is Jim. While I am from Merit, I share the very same hobby as you all and love military history and models of all scale. While I will remain mostly as an observer, I will occasionally enter my input to help clear any mist and mystery about our company and the companies we represent. Of course, we will continue to try best to service the hobby and to help bring out what hobbyist like.

I'm definitely on the "Welcome Jim" team, and look forward to having another industry "insider" to help keep us up on new develpments in the 1/18 scale!
Guess you detected some hard feelings with your initial post, but hopefully those will abate with time, and we members can benefit from your input.
Please, hang in there with us!

Hello Jim! Welcome aboard and thank you so much for whatever role you had in bringing me my new cat for christmas!!!! I sold my 8" reflector telescope so I could have this!!!!
I am one happy camper!!! Spots are gone! Gear is reworked and now I have taken apart the nose so I can super detail the cockpit.
Congratulations on a great product!!! Apart from a few obvious issues, which all of us seem to have in life, the engineering in this bird is incredible!!!! Best wishes to you! Dean
