P47FANINCHICAGO:
I've seen a lot of impressive collection photos, but yours is tops.
1. Have you put a dollar value on your collection?
2. How many models do you have?

Skyworks is well represented. There is a reason your P-51 is at the front of the line. Your P-51 Shangrilah is a work of art. Sometimes I examine it just to see if I can find something wrong with it. Still can't find a single thing I don't like about it. Paint flawless, decals great, everything is right about it. When you consider it costs the same as other cutomizers are charging for what are no more than a repaint with no modifications whatsoever I think it's the best deal around.

That sure is amazing!
If there is one thing differently I would do if I had all those aircraft in that space, I would have hung them up in large formations- say like a formation of all your Me-109's, Stukas etc. on one side of the room, and all the P51's, P47's etc. on the other side. I suppose you would have to crawl under them to get around though LOL
Edit- I count 86 aircraft in the pictures! WOW! Are there more than that?

I hate to think about how many there are because then my brain starts doing the math-ok, at least $50.00 each multiplied by.... Oh crap. Better not think about it.

yeah, at that point it's time to inventory them for insurance purposes and get a decent alarm system.

Could you give us some intel on your MG-42? It looks cool on the tri-pod.

The MG 42 was made from original parts with a dummy receiver per BATF rules. The tripod is post ww2 (probably the 1950's) which was made for the next generation MG42 (the M3). The other gun is a real BREN on it's WW2 tripod(both 1941). It has been made nonfunctional per BATF rules also. There is also a 1919a4 which is still on the floor because I haven't found a decent priced M2 tripod for it yet.

It was thru cal-tek. I think 25 were made for U.S. distribution. The packing it came in was awful so it was broken in like 20 pieces when it arrived. It's all metal but the metal is pretty fragile. I used 21st's 1/18 88mm Flak as a model to figure out where all the broken pieces went so it ended up being more like a kit than a completed model. Also, it came with this glossy grey housepaint on it so I had to repaint the whole thing and weather it. Turned out to be a big project
