Checked the KB Toys @ Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, VA this evening and they had no trace of any 1:18 XD! But I did find 1:6 "Soldiers of the World" figures which I have not seen for several years when Target and WM carried them!

Just got back from a KB recon run, "Sorry Sir but we don't carry 21st Century Toys". Aw ---- ! Just my luck.
They had the 1:6 guys... Soldiers of the World.

* Now @ KB Toys !

Post by MG-42 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 9:59 am

* Does'nt surprise me @ all that KB is now selling 21st.Century figures , or anything else really ,.. because they used to just give away a 1/6th Panzer Grenadier "Stalingrad 1943" that came in a plain white mailer box , w/ every $10.00 or $20.00 dollar purchase or something. ... "He's rare now".

:D Every time I run across one of these guys I can't help but think of the comic book guy from the Simpsons. There was a guy that worked at the local toy store that was nearly his twin. I actually kind of admire these guys to a certain degree. I just wish I was half as passionate about anything as these guys are about the stuff that interests them.

It's quite likely that they're dumping inventory.

Hey Stug,

I like the superdude with cape and the man in radioactive suit action figures. Classic.

I haven't seen any 1:18 PTE stuff at KB in quite awhile. I still see a couple of their tanks at Big Lots but they've been warming the shelf there for awhile now. I really miss that line of toys. The 1:6 PTE stuff seems to have disappeared as well. I see the occasional figure at different Big Lots but I think it's all old stock. It's a shame because they made some really nice 1:6 scale figure that were really inexpensive. At one time you could find the 1:18 and the 1:6 stuff at quite a few different places around here but for the most part it's all gone now. I've been wondering what's going on with the company. Their website is still up but it doesn't appear to have been updated in years.

This really sucks, all of the KBs have gone out of business, in my neck of the woods. I'd take a roadtrip down to Sawgrass, but my wife could go into labor any day now, so a road trip is out of the question. If any of you guys, lucky enough, to hit a vein of these figures in your area, and wouldn't mine helping me out drop me a PM.

Yep, Stug's right, FL mall had a bunch of them 8)
I got the last 4 Germies :P I only grabbed a half a dozen, but may go back for the Pacific camo guys, it'd be just for their heads  But I got a bit to work with now and the SDkfz 7, 37 mm AA gun tow be towed by it and I'm still trying to finish up the dragon's tail(20mm Flak gun). But it is true, KB is sellin' them 3 for 10 :D Da General

Anyone know if these are being found at the outlet KBs? There is only an outlet store near me, but it is still a drive. They don't really have much and I would hate to trek down there and see nothing (if they are not), that is why I ask. Any help would be great, as I still need a few of these older figures for my collection.

Also for the guys that are finding them, what versions of the Marines and Japanese are being found? If I can't find any, would anyone be able to help a member out?

The outlet store near me has them. I'm not sure which version of the marines they have because I didn't really look at them. I think someone else said the Japanese were S3. I couldn't tell you one version from the next because I've never been interested in the PTO figures but the uniforms on the ones I saw were khaki rather than green. I didn't thumb through all of them so there may have been ones with green uniforms as well.

Wish I could help you out but funds and time are rather short at the moment. I only bought 2 of the German figures when I was in there.

For any of you guys in GA the KB Outlet at Tanger Outlet Mall in Locust Grove has them. If you're further south call the KB in the Macon Mall and ask for Shirley. She's the manager and she knows her toys fairly well. She's a real sweetheart and she's always helpful. If you call tell her Kenneth in Locust Grove says hi :).

Momaw, they are being found in outlets and regular KBs at least in my AO. The Japanese were S2 (I mistakenly identified them as S3..).

I used the KB website store finder to call the KB stores in the state. Unfortunately they are all one to three hours plus drive away. None of the three I called said they had any. :( I would have gladly made the drive to pick up a few cases...

I agree Stug, the people I've encountered at KB are waaayyyy more friendly then the people of TRU. 8)

Hit the second KB today, they had more Operation Market Garden & Battle of the Bulge figures, but this one was loaded with two complete sets of Japanese Imperial Marines! I cleaned up one set and got myself two Germans, Pvt. Hugo Wolff and Pvt. Gerhard Kendzai.
I'm so happy, I've something else for my U.S. troops to fight instead of endless hordes of Krauts!

Oh yeah, since others mentioned it, I spotted quite a lot of 1:6 Soldiers of the World figs sitting up high in the shelves, right above the 21stC figures and another batch at the end of the aisle. Strangely, they had different prices, some were $6.98 and others were $7.98. They had WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Modern Conflicts, and Operation Iraqi Freedom available.

There's another KB in my AOR, I'll probably hit it next week to see what's there.

Must be nice to live in these wonderland places where figures magically appear at drastically discounted prices...
