Sorry for seeming redundant, I just wanted to show a little detail in the cases- plus I just got the hang of posting pictures with my new point and shoot- a canon a560 and I'm walking around like a man with a new 21st B-25H in 1/18th

That just a small portion of what I have out on display, I still have quite a bit packed away. Once I get my man cave finished in the basement I plan on putting all of it out.

I know that this is not really to do with my collection, but here is a link to what could finish off your toy room.

Here is an example....

I put the current pictures of most of the collection in the "what if the day comes" thread. Messy  But it shows the massive amounts of figures and vehicles 8) Da General

the cases are out of a gun store I used to frequent- they, too, are much the worse for ware- but shelf space is shelf space. I got a good deal on them and they lay fine on their side in the back of a wagon.

C00per are all of your FW 190's from the factory or do you do customs? It is very nice to see different 190's. Great Collection.

I think you mean me, My pics are the ones with the Oakley cases in them. I'm an Oakley dealer and these are older leftover display case we had here in the shop. They make great displays for models and 1/18. They cost me nothing, but I doubt you would ever find any for sale anywhere.

Well, those FW´s are customs. I do keep in touch with some other collectors here in Germany and one of them wanted to buy a whole collection of customized airplanes but could not afford the whole bunch. So I jumped in and bought 4-5 FW´s myself. Since I am not patient enough customizing models myself I am always impressed what other people can do with those airplanes! So I really really like those FW´s very much.... :-) Greetings C00per

On the first page of this thread, I posted pictures of my stuff in the basement- I used to like the look of old naturally browned plywood on the walls to hang stuff from; but now i realize its nothing but dark. What would ya paint the plywood, besides baby blue with puffy clouds. Any color more logical than white to reflect light and not give a sensation of being in a dark hallway w/bats hanging on both sides of ya?

MikeG,

I know that the lighter shades will make the room brighter and seem more open, but I just painted my office/toy room today in a OD Green shade. I should have enough light to pull it off, or at least I hope so. All I have is 1/18 planes and I wanted to see the hanging on the wall with that kind of background. I know they won't stand out, but maybe that will make one look at them closer and really see the detail then. I will have to let you all know later if it worked or not.

Other colors I was considering was a medium tan/broun and a rustic/med blue. OD Green just seemed like the right thing to do.

WOW guys those are just great I would be ashamed to show my pitiful little amount set up in the living room and in the basement :(
Deltateam Your whole display is super NICE. Looks like it could be a museum in there.

Oh I got money. It's just not enough... 32x and XD to buy... :D

My strategy for not going head-first into XD...

Only buying modern aicraft/helos. :)

But that's failed twice. Pak-40 Hanomag, and Pearl Harbor P-40.

Need more jets... and 32x anything.

I agree with what the previous poster said. I am into 1:18 modern fighters, and we have 2. I need a new hobby.

Out in the garage is the rest of my main collection and what has pulled my away from 1/18 a bit. I've been doing restorations on the 1/1 scale. Started with 67' Jeep M715

Then did a 67' M35 deuce,

Then found a shelter trailer,

And now I'm working on a 53' Dodge M37

Once you have a few pieces, and everyone knows it, then you start to have all kinds of things offered to you. Most of the uniforms and equipment in my war room were donated by friends or family who had the stuff laying around in closets or attics.

Give it time, mines 30+years old and when I started the selections were a hell of alot bigger. Now they're down to a handful even though the quality has improved. Just don't give up. Have a good one. Sarge
