Trumpeter is going to make a 1/16 SU-100 kit?

It's in Trumpeters 2011/2012 and previous catalogues , downloadable versions are around. But they only show a pic of a real SU-100 so who knows how long it will be.

I wonder if Trumpeter will also do RC versions of the King Tigers?

because of the metal parts. It's a standard HL with a bunch of mato metal upgrade parts to make it a late Tiger.
It's in the link you posted:
* Special paint job
* Metal caterpillars
* Metal drive wheel and idle wheel
* Metal gearbox
* Shock absorbers
* Metal network
* Painted commander
* Metal pull rope
* Strengthened metal chassis
* Metal view hole
* Metal armour
* Metal turret cover
* Metal shoulder wheel
* Metal front and rear hook
* Metal machine gun light
* Metal front forward light
* Upgraded Ni-MH 2000Mah battery
* Smoke effects simulator
* Sound effects simulator
* Recoil action when it fires a bb

It's a beauty, and with all those upgrades it's going to be worthy of that pricetag IMO. I may have to get one at some point.

Correct except there's nothing from MATO on Taigen tanks. Taigen is Heng Longs own in house brand of upgrade parts and tanks fitted with them.

Oh I meant asiatam not Mato. I don't think "Taigen" makes metal parts either.
Just a name given to HL tanks with asiatam metal parts on them. :wink:

Well the other parts don't come on frets with anywhere for a Taigen stamp.
Yes, Asiatam went to some trouble to disguise that.

Well, I mean instead of showing the pic of the fret with Taigen stamped on it , they showed a pic of the parts installed.

There are two pics shown there. If you click on the german language site and look at the grills there are 2 pictures. One with Taigen logo.

Fair enough :D Your original point was that Taigen don't produce any metal parts and here we have a product with Taigen stamped on it. Asiatam sell a lot of HL products.

My original point was that Taigen was just a name given to a HL and a bunch of asiatam parts on it, and you are right there is one product with a Taigen stamp on it for sale at Asiatam's website.
...but you might be right, who knows. :D

We'll get to the bottom of the HL/Asiatam relationship....eventually. I ran a story a while back that Taigen were competing with Asiatam, that story line came from a retailer, but HL/Taigen were pleased (emailed me)to see the story/publicity and didn't see fit to correct me about the competition part.

But looking at all the HL product Asiatam sells, it hardly seems the two are any sort of enemy.

I've been having discussions with HL/Taigen recently. more Advanced Metal tanks are coming.

Was out running my HL Walker today, and the one track broke. Wondering how common this is with the HL plastic tracks - is it worth getting a replacement set of plastic tracks, or is this a common occurance?

Thee are quite a few 1/15 armor items on ebay in the models and kits section and the RC section. Anyone have a 1/15 they could show next to a 1/16.

This is the best I can do, at least it shows the size difference of the chassis and treads. It is the lower hull of a 1/15 Bandai Tiger and a 1/16 Tamiya Tiger I with the Imperial Models Sturmtiger resin conversion kit.

Image

It is not the final paint I went with either.

Wow looks like a pretty big size difference!

I know it will look abit out of sorts in my collection of 1/16 armor but what is my alternative? are there resin conversion kits to make a Hummel or Nashorn in 1/16??
