Did any of the variants ever show at Walmart?
No F-104's have shown at WM yet.

Does anyone know if they even going to be carried? (I know I don't know).

I beat you to it, KAGNEW.

My F-104G arrived this afternoon.

All I can say is, "WOW"!!!

It's even MORE impressive in person than in pictures.

One neat feature that I hadn't seen mentioned, is that there are TWO Pitot tubes included - a hard plastic one and a SOFT plastic one.

I'm DEFINATELY going to have to repaint one of my silver F-104s (I bought two).

Got my German F-104 today. Very Nice and it has the cool box that was at Comic Con. I wonder if they will end up changing boxes eventually to the one that came with my silver F-104. I like the special edition box-it's unique. Does anyone remember the differences on this model to the first release. I see the rudder is different, anything else?
Thanks,
Todd

Just checked BCA's site and there is an S4 version of F-104 due 2006 in a Bavarian scheme. Does anyone have any idea what that would look like?
Thanks,
Todd

S4 104

Post by digger » Wed Oct 19, 2005 5:44 am

Isn't the S3 just a Luftwaffe scheme?
S1 & S2 are cool but pretty bland....I would welcome the Bavarian scheme above. Hell, people like the clown nose 109G & the Candy Cane 190.... :D

no the S2 is a German Marineflieger scheme....german navy (sorta). Anyway, not the Luftwaffe. The Luftwaffe Starfighters had a two tone paint scheme like in the Bavaria S4 but without all the flashy paint.

So, 21st is going to make a repaint of the 104 in the blue and white check scheme?

Here's a decent site to check out Luftwaffe 104's.
http://www.916-starfighter.de/main.htm

Ski, You can find a pic 24+33 in there for your profiles page.

Aferg what do you mean by flashy paint the orange tiptanks? Both the Luftwaffe and Marine(Navy) had them. I was stationed in Germany in the early 80's and 1/2 dozen times I saw Luftwaffe 104's they always had them. Someone would always tell the corny joke how can you own a Luftwaffe F-104 buy an acre of land.

Good news on the camo version from BCA:

UPDATE 10/19/05: 1000 S1 Silver F-104s have been delivered. This run is sold out quickly and we are getting a special delivery of these and the Luftwaffe 104 S3 next week.

The S2 Vietnam camo paint (Smoke II) and a Bavarian S4 version is slated for January 2006.

My Marine F-104

Post by eddie372 » Sun Oct 23, 2005 8:25 pm

Received my Marine F-104 on the 21st and I must say it's a beautiful piece. 21C certainly scored some serious points with me in terrms of their QC, attention to detail and overall presentation.

I'm hoping these quialities are present in all their future offerings. Now 21C and BBi are serious competitors in every respect, and nobody else but us to reap all the benefits of this great contest for our money. As for me and my dollars, they'll be going in support of both companies.

[quote=you're correct about the 102's, and even more correct about those 'Phabulous Phantoms', and on a similar note, who else here would buy as many 1:18 F-4's as there home could hold? :-)[/quote]

Wow, I'm glad I found this forum. I was actually doing a google search for a 1:18 scale Phantom. I would buy at least 4!!! We should start a petition to bbi and 21st century!!!
