The 3 packs are hard to find here too. 3 out of 4 had none. And the store that had the 3 packs, had none of the Marines of which has the hedgehogs.
Hopefully MORE PTE will show up after BL gets rid of the Halloween stuff.

Camels

Post by dandaman » Tue Sep 30, 2008 3:48 pm

Camels trump all.

I can't get over how cool these things are. I'm custom modifying one to have bazookas strapped on its sides and a large cannon strapped to its back.

Odd with the three-packs. There are a number of them in my area, in at least three stores. It appears that the selection at even Big Lots tends to vary. There were some sets (including the bridge one) that I never saw last year or even this year so far.

Last year the only thing(s) I couldnt' find were the single-figure deluxe packs for SWAT and Firemen... I wanted a lot of the destroyed walls/houses, and the ladders the firemen came with, and those sets were nowhere to be found. Tons of the military ones, and we had lots of SWAT and Fire 3-packs at least, just nothing with those walls.

We had tons of bridges, houses/sets, towers, howitzers, A-10's, Abrams, buggies, ALL Humvee types, tents, bunks, etc., etc., etc., etc. Just tons of all that junk around. And every BL had about the same selection. This year though, everything's sporadic... Mostly it's towers and howitzers. Towers and howitzers are the only readily available toys for me and that blows as I have so many towers at this point I have no room for them, haha. :)

Thanks, Jesse. I'm disappointed too so far. I'm hoping that there's still alot on the way or in their backroom waiting to come out. JCPenney has some neat sets online, but all are repeats except the one with just the one new vehicle.
One BL in Elyria had just a couple different 3 pack figures, but the other 3 BL's in the area didn't. There's only one thing to do...keep hope alive... :D

I don't know about that $17+ price...unless Stug45 got it on clearance last year. I paid between $20 and $30 for it last year at Big Lots. I haven't seen it at any of my BL's this year.
It's also at JCPenney for $39.99.

Bridges were $20 (edit scratch that, they were $25 I think) last year, Command Centers were $30... $25.99 is actually lower in 2008 so that rocks. Good news that someone has them available too.

The Command Center, as a "set piece", can be dolled up some but it's gonna take a bit of work Aferg. The bridge is pretty fantastic right out of the box. I highly suggest it.

The Sear prices suck but that Sears/KM for you. :( Penneys isn't too bad because you'll likely get it for 25% off easily. I worked for Penneys for a while and they always have ways to get stuff for at least 20 or 25% off.

Very good news!! Hopefully, even more PTE will start showing up now that the Halloween stuff will be out of the way.
Sorry, but those coupons have expired and nothing new for coupons is showing up on the BL Online site.
Will try to do some recons of my BL's here this weekend!

Did a recon at the Big Lots in Brunswick, OH. Only ONE tower set and 3 Marine boats. That's it. No 3 figure packs, nothing. :(

Did a recon at a local Big Lots and found bridge sets, marine boats and command centers. That was it. No figures.

I got several of the PTE 1:6 figures a few weeks ago. Very nice accessories and uniforms, actually better than Hasbro's current offerings. The soldier in the digital green Army cammo looks fantastic, as does the PJ (which I turned into a proper-looking helo pilot using a spare GIJoe helmet

I'm not sure whether they are the same as last year or not. I want to say they are different, but not really sure because I didn't pay attention to the 1:6 figures last year....

Just got back from doing another BL recon. This time in Cleveland. While the one BL in Brunswick had very little, this BL had 1/2 an aisle LOADED with bridge sets, tanks, towers, boats, humvees, 3 soldier packs, etc!
Too bad it's a bit far from home...

This stuff is much harder to find than I originally thought. I went out today with my son and found a boat, which is Awesome, towers, camels, howitzers, and abrams tanks. The towers are huge, very worth the money. I can't wait to find the new stuff.
Best,
-Paul
