Boy, I'm having too much fun!!

Here's more...

http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews ... m_nats.htm

There are 5 separate documented (I believe) paint schemes for #2106. I'd love to see the USN (Lexington) yellow wing version!

From the information on both Admiral and MTS websites, YES, this is the aircraft they are reproducing in 1:18. The version they are doing is the fourth profile down on the first link above.

I really like those early Navy paint schemes. I hope Admiral makes a yellow wing version. :D

This would be an awesome paint scheme to go along with the Bush Avenger that will come out <a href="http://img115.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... essqu7.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/7731 ... qu7.th.gif" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us"></a>

I orderd mine today and had a nice conversation with Isaiah . :D I am glad I did. He said that they are going to possibly put in a few extra decals to do a earlier model. The center red meatballs and red and white tail flash. This is a way to get an addtional paint scheme out of the same issue. Should I get 2 of them :?: HUMMMM 8) 8)
Thanks Isaiah

MIGMADMAVIS,

No one in this industry gives exact dates or even months of delivery anymore. It is too difficult because of all the variables involved.

Sorry, but late spring, summer, mid summer is the best you will get these days.

Jason

Dauntless

I just wanted to liven this thread up. (No, I'm not TOO excited about the AT Dauntless....yeh, RIGHT ) Again, many thanks to Jason and AT!

Whatever repaints they do with the SBD I'm sure they will be great! AT seems to have a track record of well-researched REAL historic airplanes. The SBD BuNo2106 has a facsinating history all by itself!

Following is a series of profiles from the Yellow-Wings decal website. All are BuNo 2106 - at different times during here operational career. AT's version is the fourth one down:
<img src="http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7480 ... 01pak8.jpg" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us">

If AT could provide the basic later paint scheme (like they did the unmarked F-86), and provide a couple of decal variations, then we could do up either Pearl Harbor/Coral Sea or Midway versions of 2106 or other aircraft. The leader of the Marine squadron was Major Lofton Henderson, KIA during Midway, later had the Guadalcanal airfield named after him. Identical paint scheme, different number than #2106.

My dream paint scheme would be the early (first one of the profiles above) yellow-wing Navy 2-B-2.

JimBob

Dont know if anyone has noticed but at MilitaryToys.com the description for the Dauntless says that optional decals will be included for the Dauntless. That is the decals for the red circle and the red and white rudder stripes will be included to apply to the white stars of the aircraft making it visually correct for the markings of the Battle of the Coral Sea Dauntless
