Sad = the tears of the Phoenix are claimed to have healing powers.

It flies = self explanatory.

Gillette = close (as in close proximity to.)

Answer = U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds.

They all have a large phoenix painted on the underbelly. They fly. They are in close formation.

But that would be a repaint of the F-16.

I located a couple of screen shots from the Gillette Mach 3 commercial. I hearby officially declare my guess to be the: F-22 Raptor

What does sad have to do with a F-22

Maybe sad is they think we won’t like it. I like the F-22 but it won’t be finding a home in my house if that’s what it is.

I'm still hoping for another WWII plane.

The Thunderbirds flew the F-4 Phantom for awhile. How cool would that be?

I wouldn't mind if you were correct Shin, though my wallet might..
Just for scale reference, this is a Tamiya 1/32 Tomcat next to a 21st 1/32 P40, and thats a std posterboard, the thing would be HUGE!

If its a jet like an F15 or an F22 maybe its sad because that for the size it will cost around 150.00 or more.

Its probably an F-14 or an F-15 in my opinion. Here is a list that I'm sure the plane will be on. BBI is known for their modern stuff over any other era. An F-14 or F-15 would just make sense to go along with the other two jets that they already have.

A-10
F-4
F-14
F-15
F-22

WWII
F6F Hellcat
SBD Dauntless

dam it! I thought I was on to something with the XB-70 Valkyrie.
Sad = Valkyrie
Flies = Yeap
Gillette = mach 3 flight speed
Then I discovered the thing was as big as an airliner - doh! Back to the drawing board.

And now for some reason I keep thinking this thing may be a helicopter

G'day all

Maybe the “Gillette = Mach 3” guess could be re-interoperated along the lines of Mk III, as in the third version of something?

...........and maybe "it flies" means it is fast!

Like wasn't the Challenger 1 Mk3 the worlds fastest MBT?

Hmm, Gilette make razor blades, which is what has become of most the the West's hunter-killer submarines (most of the WarPac subs have become rusting, radioactive harbor filler!)... A sad end for masterful pieces of engineering (can tell I never sailed in one, can't you :wink: ) so that's my guess - an Ohio-class nuke.

Oh wait, Da Man said it flies. Belgium!

Supply And Demand (maybe relevant to A10)
Search and Destroy
Seek and Destroy
Submarine Anomaly Detection

My Guess

Might as well get in on the "brain-drain". From what I've read so far....and this is a SWAG at best....here's what I've been able to deduce.

SAD= Swedish Air Defense

It flies=Hope so or it's an expensive paperweight!

Gillette had a similar one a few years ago= Gillette Mach 3 Razor commercial.

Here's the explination. If you look at the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen, especially from the front, it bears an outstanding resemblance to the aircraft pictured in the Gillette Razor commercials. The "SAD" I explained earlier as the Swedish Air Defense, who were the primary receivers of the JAS-39. And as for "it flies"...try Mach 2.0 clean in level flight....booogedy booogedy! Now the size of a Gripen would be around the same as the F-16 and FA-18 models already produced...or smaller...soooo....Left Field techno, but that's my guess, and I'm stik'n to it!
