I must be blind or really tired, because I don't see anything on badcat. I'm excited, but I hope this turns up at TRU. Buying planes online means I have to buy less, because of shipping.

Maybe it's too early after the announcement to draw any conclusion, but the initial reaction, even with the thumbs up from many board members, is not up to the level I thought it would be.
I think there will be a better reaction once there is something to see..

I know I'm excited to see the bbi Zero because I want to see the level of detail they put into it, which knowing bbi I'm sure its going to be very good. I hope Bad Cat posts a pic of it but so far nothing yet. All I can say is FINALLY my Corsairs are going to have something to shoot at!

The Zero sounds nice, but when are we going to see more modern aircraft? I know the answer will be wait and see, but can't we have an A-10 like we've been begging for too? :(

Yeah, it would be nice if bbi beat 21C to the punch with an A-10. I don't care who makes it, just as long as it looks good and is released before I die  .

Any way, I'm stoked that we will finally have a Zero, and I'm sure it will be a nice one. I'll take two.

I'd love to see a picture of the Zero. They say it's worth a thousand words.

Zero

Post by digger » Mon Aug 15, 2005 4:19 pm

I hope you fly boys are happy - you asked for it now pony up  ....I'm sure it will be cool though. I think just the 1st scheme is a BC exclusive, or did I read that wrong? It makes sense the Co. would announce a new bird no matter who was buying/selling it. Aside from PH is there any other "historic" scheme I should be thinking about? I hope PH is the mass distribution - I'm good for one at $40 on the shelf at tru :D

Alright! A Zero! And due to come out so soon - as from what I gather by other posts.

Now, hopefully they will do the M5 (Type 52) variant as opposed to the M3 variant that 21st Century is making. That would allow for both to exist in the market without exactly being doubles. The M5 was the most widely produced variant of the Zero, though the M3 is of Pearl Harbor fame. Both BBI and 21c do a good job on their aircraft, so the choice may be tough - and depend on which comes out first!

Digger, TRU will not carry replicas of any German or Japanese equipment.

If TRU will not carry any replicas of Japanese or German equipment, does that mean that this will be an online only aircraft? That was pretty much what the F-16 was and it did well according to Mike. That should open the door to other aircraft that TRU won't pick up. Think about the possibilities.

Didn't TRU sell the first few series of Stukas? What's that all about?

I'm extremely happy with the news about the new Zero. I finally get an enemy PTO plane for my P-38s. I wonder what's next. What kind of armor did the Japanese army have? 21C doesn't expect these troops to walk every where do they?

Yeah, TRU carried the entire German line UNTIL the Anti-Defimation League (ADL) threatened to sue or something like that. After that, the German stuff was discounted and never seen again. BS......

Don't expect any armor for the Japanese. Their tanks were the worst of the war (right behind the Italians) and were seldom encountered.

a bbi zero! it looks like one of the old rumors has come true.

now for a picture! :o

i can't wait to see the pilot.

if bbi releases the zero within the next couple months they'll probably beat out 21st by at least a year.

i wonder how many paint schemes will be produced?

i doubt 21c will proceed with their Zero now. They were reluctant before and now that a big chunk of the market will be taken by the BBI release they will probably not proceed.

Just as well, they can spend their energies on other projects...we don't need more duplication...plenty o' fish in the sea...

I hope its a A6M5c, and I thought 21st 's was a Model 32 which is post PH.
A model 21 from pearl could also become a "Rufe" eventually.

Bring on the Zero

Post by jhogan » Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:34 am

Like many of you, I'm pleased to see the BBi Zero come out in the next few months. This answers many of our requests for this outstanding Japanese fighter.
OK BBI, can you clear the drawing boards for the Hellcat? How about the Nakajima B5N "Kate" which is the Japanese torpedo plane used at Pearl Harbor and seen the the movie "Tora Tora Tora".

if you are going to make planes then...

Post by 75th Ranger » Wed Aug 17, 2005 8:04 am

if you are going to make planes then...

make the following:

C-130 transport

C-130 "Puff the Magic Dragon" Spectre gunship

A-6 Intruder

A-7 CAS

A-10

those are planes that really get their hands dirty and support the troops from close by.
