This morning on my way to work found both 1/18 Pearl Harbor P-40s at a WM in north Dallas! To my knowledge this is the first time they have been spotted here in Dallas.

Just left a WM here in north Dallas, 75 & Spring Valley, and found squadrons of Huffs and Migs like 10-15 stacked up on several shelfs! There was the Huff and Russian & NK Migs.
That placed really looked 'Mig Alley'!!

Wish I could find stacks of planes like that! I was pleased enough just to find 3 (now two) "Huff" F-86s and 2 of the new F-104s earlier at a local Wal Mart, but no Russian Migs. However, I don't need one of those...

I found the two Pearl Harbor P-40s at Walmart this afternoon. I got one, and I really like the olive drab paint scheme. Nice looking plane. :D

Didn't see any Huffs at Chesapeake VA Battlfield Blvd WM! They also had three MIG-15bis tiger stripe Chinese and three P-51Ds 'Flying Undertaker'
They had a handful of D-Day figures too, all tankers, I think!

Not really a 21c retail find, but when I started doing some volunteer work at the Legion of Valor museum in Fresno, Ca (which is a very nice little military museum stocked full of various equipment, weapons, uniforms, medals, memorabilia, etc. commemorating America's fighting men from the Revolution to the present) I was quite tickled to see that they had a number of 21c, BBI and FOV aircraft and vehicles on display 8) They were well liked by the veterans!

We are quite lucky to be able to get museum-quality models for retail prices

I've checked at least 8 W.M. in the N.J. area and not a one 1/18 aircraft was on any shelf.
They have very little 1/32 and a few 1/18 D-Day figures.
The woes here in N.J. continue!

The Dover WM finally got it's compliment of Chinese Migs. Still burns me to no end on how slow these things are hitting the stores..... :?

21st Century Finds

In reference to my earlier post concerning the finds at the Bellingham, WA store. This is the first time I have found current models on their shelves. Most of the time, there is nothing. Maybe one of WM delivery trucks went to the wrong store, or maybe the drivers are given maps of certain stores, and they get to choose where they want to go?

Uniondale walmart has Chinese Migs, I saw 6 and 2 Seeman 109's all at $39.40. oh and 1 German 104. Fair number of D-Day figures.
In 1/32nd a dozen or so model kits U.S. armor and German trucks and some play sets.
All I was looking for was the 1/18th 88 and King Tiger. :P

I was at a toyfair today and saw the 21st century Flight 19 TBF Avenger and starfighter today both for £40 (about $75  but this is still cheaper then buying and shipping to the uk :) )

Well, went on a road trip to Los Angeles this weekend, and stopped at a few Wal Marts along the way. Nothing really new, though there were a number of F-104s and D-Day figures to be found.

Those of you in the Los Angeles area may want to take a trip northwards to Santa Clarita and check out the Wal Mart near Lyons Drive off the I-5. It had one of the best XD selections I've seen at a WM in months, including the new F-104s, Huff F-86s, a Chinese Mig-15, the carded 32x Russians, Japanese, and Mortar pits, various 32x Bf-109F/Gs, the new wave of D-Day figures including Tracker Richards and the Artillery Spotter, plus various 1:48 and 1:144 vehicles. I didn't get anything, but for those of you in the LA area with XD-starved Wal Marts, its worth a look

Same here on my side of Atlanta - not all 48 local WMs but a few have the largest selection of aircraft in a long time -
2-4 MIGS usually Chinese - few russian.
1 each of the new starfighters
2-4 of the pearl harbor planes - 2 of each
funny thing is they are not all in one place -
The XD spot has the Migs and the rest are either sitting on endcaps or high up. Funny thing is these are the WM that dont have the new figures.

It's been a while since I went looking(my time and funds have been comitted to building a new AR15), and I was pleasantly surprised.

Chinese and Soviet MiGs, new D-Day and Afrika Korps figures, Pearl Harbor P-40s, both the Tiger Meet and George AFB(?) F-104s.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Interesting... I've been finding the new F-104s, the new D-Day figures, as well as the occasional F-86 and even rarer Mig-15 at the stores in my state, but in none of the stores have I seen the Pearl Harbor P-40s. Seems like they're showing up with the same things back east, but not in the west... Its really nothing big, however
