Right now they are still at $49 in my AO--I almost picked up a couple this weekend to repaint, but decided to hold off a couple more weeks to see if they drop more (or until I can find a store manager on duty to talk to, since there are clearly precedents for lower prices).
If anyone can post the store numbers (or enough info to look it up in Wally's on-line directory), maybe those of us in the $49 and higher regions can do a bit of negotiating. Thanks guys!

Yeah, hold out. I was at this same WM Thursday night and the Avengers were $49. Something told me not to buy just then. Maybe it was the fact that I already have a couple of these birds and $49 didn't seem like THAT great of a deal. Or maybe it was that there was a pile of 16 of these things staring me in the face and they would HAVE to clearance them to move them. Whatever it was, I'm glad I held out.

If you're a collector and live in the Mission Village, Serra Mesa, Kearny Mesa, Linda Vista, Tierrasanta, Murphy Canyon area:
Counted 25 TBF-1 Avengers in a stack near the Garden Center, all reduced to $49. A few PLA-AF cammo'd MiG-15 Bis were scattered in the stack. Info as of 5pm, 1/6/07.

I found the exact same Avenger I returned to WM after Christmas for a full price refund sitting by itself on an empty shelf. There was no price tag so I had the guy in sporting goods scan it and it came up as $35.00. So since it was a gift I not only got my Avenger, but I made a nice little profit!

I just finished putting together my Avenger. The plane is awesome, you really don't realize the size of the thing until it is put together. I had trouble putting on the left wing until I found that a piece of plastic left over from molding wasn't removed and was blocking the wing from seating properly. Once I got that off they went on fine. Also isnt the spinner supposed to be connected to the prop? Mine ins't and the prop wobbles around.

The Avenger's prop is unique among 1:18 planes. The prop body is seperate from the hub, so it spins independantly. Each blade of the prop is seperate, thus the looseness. 21st could of saved a lot of hassle and just made a 1 piece prop. This one is pretty complex!Rowsdower wrote:I just finished putting together my Avenger. The plane is awesome, you really don't realize the size of the thing until it is put together. Wow, I didn't notice the seperate blades. I wonder why they decided to make the prop like that? Oh well, it looks great on the top shelf of my desk.Teamski wrote:The Avenger's prop is unique among 1:18 planes. The prop body is seperate from the hub, so it spins independantly. Yeah me too. I think I might be one of the few that still has the Bunker Hill Avenger on preorder.tmanthegreat wrote:Saw that myselfThreetoughtrucks wrote:BCA now has Flight 19 Avengers on pre-order to be in stock later this month.

TTTNow to preorder or not to preorder... I think I'd better be rational and patient and simply wait for a true Pacific-blue scheme

Miracle of miracles, Mishawaka, IN WM has reduced their remaining Avengers to $35 (still tagged and signed at $49, though). Just five left! Never thought I would see it here am Arsch der Welt...
