I've only seen the Super Humvee at my area Targets (which was the one I wanted anyways) and agree that it has better weathering and a darker, flatter tan than what I remember at TRU. It fits in perfectly well with my 21c HummersSTUKA wrote:Both have great weathering paintjobs - much better than I remember at TRU. $19.99 same as TRU prices were.

My Target got in tons of merchandise from another Target that closed, that is why they haven't finished the toy dept. The toy guy says that he thinks the remaining FOV on the shelves will be 50% off on Thursday. There isn't much FOV left and the only BBI is the Apache, so we shall see.

yeah they were a bit more pricey at TRU and people are taking them like they are on clearance.holensock wrote:Out of ALL the bbi at my local Target...only TWO figures remain. Humvees-gone! Tank-gone! LAV-gone! Empty shelves remain after only about a week and a couple of days ON the shelves. And to think Target was a bit reluctant to carry the 'better' line of bbi.

Twice as much is more that just 'a bit more pricey'STUKA wrote:yeah they were a bit more pricey at TRU and people are taking them like they are on clearance.

Can't speak for the figures, though. Aren't they the same price?
Sometimes the best solution to morale problems is just to fire all of the unhappy people...
Finally!
Now showing...in the central D/FW Metro area, Super Target located at Cooper Street across from the Parks Mall....BBI Apaches, Blackhawks, Abrams and LAV. The helos are going for $29.99 each and the tanks range in the $25.00 area. I had to snap up an Apache for an IAF conversion.

Well it's Thursday and the toy guy from the other day was FOS. The reset has still not reached the FOV aisle and the very few FOV items which were stuffed in a cart were not (I checked the Corsair) on clearence. And of course the shelves were empty so there was no new BBI or FOV.
What a great freaking way to do business!!
I hope you guys with Targets overflowing with new BBI and FOV realise how lucky you are.

Good News:
Visted the same four Target stores closest to my home today and noticed from last weeks travels that the BBi items are selling, quite well I might add, especially the 1:18th. The 1/72 seems to be pretty brisk as well, so lets hope it's this way in most folks AO's so that BBi will continue to pump new items into the mainstream.

Finally! My Target has their new stuff out! Unfortunately they must have finished Friday or this weekend because it was a bit picked out but I sure wasn't complaining!
They had the 1:18 BBI LAV and Abrams, plus both choppers. They also had the Super Humvee. They also had a whole bunch of the modern figures including the Marine machine gunner with the sand colored helmet and goggles which I've never seen and probably should have got.
The 1:72 stuff was really picked out, all the Battle Extreme packs were gone, the landing craft was there but not my cup of tea. I did however get the SD KFz 251 Ausf D "Stuka" Halftrack and it is very nice, like the XD version hit with a shrink ray!
Then I spied an FOV 1:32 Italy Spitfire which is the one I like. I didn't see a shelf tag so I scanned it. It read $24.99, $5 cheaper than TRU. I looked at the all the tags along the bottom shelf and found a tag that matched the assortment number for the plane, it said $15.00! I asked the guy who was in charge of resetting that department (very cool guy btw) what the deal was, he looked at the numbers and the tag and said yea something isn't right and went off to check it out. After a few minutes he came back and said that the $15 tag was wrong but he would give that one to me for $15! I was pretty happy, half the price of TRU and $10 less than the "real" Target price.
The moral of the story is always ask questions, especially about prices. There are some cool employees out there that will help you out! If I had just grabbed that plane and bought it, it would have cost me $25, it was the last one on the shelf so I wonder how many paid full price?

No he was a white guy with a SAW mg, and a plain desert sand colored helmet, meaning no "cloth" camo cover and goggles. I believe his position was listed as just "machine gunner" His last name was "White" I was going to pick him up today but his SAW was all bent up.scope uk wrote:Hey the machine gunner you saw wasn't the guy at the bottom of this page was he?

Big changes at my TRU. They went back to using long aisles branching off the main aisles instead of the weird arrangement they've used for the last 6 years or so. This results in much more shelf space. There was a huge area decoted to 1:32 and 1:72. I didn't see any XD aircraft but I am sure those will show up. The manager says they are going to be carrying a lot more new stuff.

My apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere but I have not seen it mentioned in any other threads, I've pretty much entirely given up collecting 1:18 scale stuff, but I have never seen a Ghillie suited sniper before, so I picked up this guy... Ranger Sgt. "Snake" Rooney. Just wondered if this is guy is a new release.
