21st Century 2005 Catalog Posted!

Post by Teamski » Thu Feb 24, 2005 7:57 am

Hey guys:

I scanned the 2005 catalog for 21st and created an album for it. It was a small catalog, only 7"x9" or so. Enjoy!

Hey Ski,

Any chance you could scan the Platoon figures at a little higher resolution? I'd really like to see how well they did the head sculpts. More Vietnam soldiers - SWEET!

Thanks for the catalogue pictures! Hopefully the pictured items won't turn out to be empty promises - we already know that the F-104 and Avenger are going to be realities! Now to see some of the 32x pieces, and the XD Japanese troops!

Did anyone notice on the A Bridge Too Far Sherman? It says it will have an engine compartment and seats. I wonder if they are going to retool the Sherman?

I wonder if the Platoon figures will have new articulation? Everything looks great. Now we need it to hit the stores.

I can't get it any better. My understanding is that the head sculps are the 1:6 ones shown elsewhere. The pictures of the heads in the catalog are superimposed on the standard XD VN driver.......

I wonder why they show supposedly discontinued models in 2005?

I see the Checkerboard F4U is still in there.

:dunno:

Some of the models may be discontinued, but there are many small retailers that are still carrying the ones that are left. BCA, for example, has them. 21c may also want to show the range of the products they have produced in the catalogue. Personally, I think that this 2005 catalogue is a more accurate reflection of what 21c currently carries s opposed to the 2004 catalogue that showed alot of pieces that haven't been produced.

Could you tell us more about the photos of the Corgi 1/18 aircraft? Release dates, suppliers, are they limited runs? Thanks

Corgi & XD

Post by digger » Wed Mar 02, 2005 5:41 am

Corgi/XD planes have already been released (in England at least). I don't know how bright the future of that relationship is but I think Ski saw that Corgi months ago on the shelves in the UK. Where are you oilfant?

I have a couple pictures of the Corgi XD planes I saw while in the UK at the RAF museum. You can check them out in the miscellanious folder (click on website below). They were only shipped to Europe. It looks like it might be a one-time thing as Corgi backed off on further orders for the time being. I hope this changes...........

Thanks for the info Teamski. If you don't mind one more question, how was the quality compared to 21C and BBI? In my experience anything Corgi has done is of exceptional detail. If this is true, it would be worth the trouble of ordering from overseas.
