Eh, one word there Andrew: Sweet!!!

The paint scheme is so striking that it just makes the plane. Even as the wrong version, I think it looks the best of the lot.........

Just came back from the E/506th reunion in Norfolk, VA. Tore myself away to do some recon. Went to the WM on N. military Highway, found Diecast Winter Tigers. Next WM i went to was off of or on Battlefield Blvd. Had a bunch of winter shermans and tigers. havent opened the Tiger yet but it looks sweet. One WM Supercenter had nothing but shelves of Bradelys, Cobras and AA hueys, forgot where it was. it was lcoated about 30 west of Norfolk off of Rt. 64. Hope this helps someone.

Found three (now two left) candystripe FW-190s at WM in Decatur, AL. Imagine, east of the Mississippi and south of Virginia! But these are the ONLY planes they have.

The Taylor Mill Wal mart in Northern Kentucky has tons of grey Tigers, a few Huck Bucks and a few Cobra helicopters. They also have one brown Stewart Tank.

I'm still a bit confused. When you guys talk about the grey tiger tank in WM, do you mean the 1:18 plastic one that was initially released in toys r us.

The ones I saw were winter Tigers, different than the grey 1st issue Tigers found at TRU.

Dangaroo
The Wal Mart Tigers are 1/18 die cast. They used the same molds as the earlier TRU Tigers. There are two paint schemes out, the “grey” Tiger and the winterized “white” Tiger. Both are die cast metal.

I haven’t been able to check any Ohio stores yet. That being said I have found tons of Grey Tigers all over Northern Kentucky. I still have not seen any winter Tigers locally. I took a road trip to Lexington a few weeks ago and found winter Tigers at the Berea Wal Mart so they are in the area. I know for a fact that the New Taylor Mill super Center has Grey Tigers. That store is just across the river off of 275 between 471 and 71/75. The Alexandria store also has a few.

What's new at Wal-mart

Post by jhogan » Fri Oct 22, 2004 8:04 am

I cover the Super stores in Peoria and East Peoria, Illinois. We have Me109's in both Candy cane and black chevron at both stores. We also have two Stuart tanks in stock at both stores. E. Peoria has the new North African sand color in new boxes on sale for $100. each. The Peoria store has the older green tanks in the green box for full price of $149 and some change.

I was recently in the Wal-Mart in New Albany, Mississippi and saw five of the winter Tigers there. Also three of the remote Stuarts--which I dislike with that lousy looking gun!

Not much new or many planes at all here in Austin, Texas. A few of the Tigers both variations in Round Rock WM at full price and at another in Georgetown several Bradleys at full price. Have seen 2 Red 3 190's hanging around the shelves and no Spits ever have hit here so far. We will keep up hope that as the Holidays approach maybe they will restock.

All stores in my AO have a fresh shipment of both Stuka's, winter Tigers, and the new M113 APC. No black 109's as of yet.

Bubbletop P47 Found

Post by Bruzzer » Mon Oct 25, 2004 6:56 pm

Hey Everyone,
I'm surprised to find no one else has found the Bubbletop P47. Bay Area, CA Milpitas Walmart. There were only 2 and 1 left now. They also restocked the 190's.

Ski: Still have your policy of buying 2 of each model, given the glut of 1:18 models being produced these days?

For me, I'm finding I have to be more selective now. I'm not snatching up everything as before when the possibility of 21st going belly up was looming. And now BBI's in the picture producing great a/c.

Blue Angel F/A-18 or National Guard F-16? Would really love them, but I already bought the Mauraders F/A-18, so am now squirreling money away for other upcoming releases.

I LOVE this stuff, but the financial aspect of this hobby is really starting to come into play....And I hate being hampered by that fact, but such is life!

You remembered that huh?

Yes I still have the 2 plane policy. But, that policy is only for each type of plane. I did for a while (a LONG time ago) get 2 of each paint scheme since each new paint scheme was better than the one before, but that went out the window, of course. I ended up getting most of the schemes through WM sales and trades, but not at the full sticker price. I got 2 VFA-190 F-18s and I'll get 2 8th FW F-16s, but that is it. I have no interest in the BA F-18...... There is no way to get repaints of the jets. Not at $85 a shot.

As far a $$$, I am a non-smoker/drinker, 1 wife, 1 child, without a cellphone and 1 car. Soo, I have a bit more money to dig into the hobby :D ..............

But as the 109G, Bubbletop P-47, bbi P-51 and other aircraft roll out, I will have to get 2 of each, along with the MK IV..... I must........

ps: Thanks p51 for the titles. I am honoured sir!

OK, so I was able to stop by a couple WMs in SoCal today to see what I could find. I was hoping (and fantasizing) that one of them would have a couple new items for me to pick up. Unfortunately not. With that being said, here is what I found:
Anaheim WM off the I-5: five winter Tigers. Picked one up for $20!
Three or four AA Hueys, and two M2s. Each set was in different aisles of the toy section. SO, if you see the AA Hueys, and don’t see the clearance/sale Tigers, keep on going down a couple more aisles.

Norwalk WM: five 190s. Don’t know what color scheme as they were placed about two feet away from the ceiling (and twenty feet from the floor).

Hoping to hit a couple others in the area this weekend....

A friend of mine (who usually knows his stuff) has just told me that he saw a bubbletop P-47 in a Wal-Mart about 14 miles away from me here in Tennessee. If I get the time later, I might investigate!
