It's an oman to open all them up and display them. Something is telling youthat they are not to just sit in their boxes tucked away. Take them out and display them.caesarbc wrote:One of the worst things occurred to me this week......from a collectors standpoint.
I was out of work for a week as my wife and I just had our 4th little boy. I'm not sure about you guys, but when I buy/ trade XD items, I have alot of them sent to my work so the wife doesn't see them. Well when I was away, my office was flooded by a bathroom water line that broke. Quite a few of my planes had boxes that are now useless from being soaked by the water. I've had to open the box and remove the plane as I have seen mold already developing on some of them.
I had to open my Easten Camo tiger, my Winter Me-109, my Huckle-de buck, the german Starfighter as well as a few star wars items.
What a bummer! I guess I can't say it's too bad as the wife and baby are doing fine, but I guess it's time to face the music with the wife as I now have to transfer about 20 planes home as my office gets fixed.
Thats why I keep all my "excess" in the attic. Of course now that I said that, my roof will probably collapsecaesarbc wrote:One of the worst things occurred to me this week......from a collectors standpoint.

Just wait you will find out what they mean.Plane Nuts wrote:Y'all crack me up...what's with the fear of the little w'men in your lives? You don't have to answer to them about your hobbies...it's not like you're sneakin' dope or sumthin.
Seriously, grown men can collect (and even play with if we want) toys. It's perfectly natural.

Evrey time I get a plane my G/Fher eyes and says this better be the last one......or else. And I am not married.
that can backfire too.GAU-8 wrote:all though newly married myself, i have never kept anything secretive from my wife (dated for 7 years).
"what goes around..comes around."
i have learned his too many times, and dont fall into the karma "trap" by not playing it. IF someone cant deal
if these were held out "IN SECRET" during the purchases....she may as wonder what else you might not be telling her.
if it hasnt been brought up yet, dont act like it was a "SECRET" and the secret just escaped.....just tell her something like. "well i know you didnt want to deal with all the aircraft, so i have been keeping my hobby away from you..so i dont stress you out"...dont act like you were HIDING a secret..act like you were PROTECTING HER from your "crazy hobby".
