Anyone own the 1:16 scale Airsoft Panzer III?
Anyone own the 1:16 scale Airsoft Panzer III?
I have seen several of these listed on e-bay for $65-$80 and was wondering if anyone had one and what the detail and mechanics were like and if it was worth the money.

If I remember correctly , "scbvideoboy" has the "L" variant.

I got one. It's cool. Slightly better quality than the Tiger and Pershing. The only disappointment is lack of sound. I have the "sound and smoke" version of the Tiger and Pershing and I like the sound, especially because it has a volume control (listen up 21st century!!). I rarely use the smoke but the sound adds an extra little bit of realism that the Panzer III doesn't have. Hopefully they will come out with a "sound and smoke" version in the future. also, I found that raidentech.com has a pretty good price and ships fast. I would rather go through them than evilbay.

Just bought a Canon Powershot S3 and testing it out.
As my web computer is older and won't support the image software I had to load these to my Mac.
And get that to work with different browser to email to my yahoo, then copy to my web computer then resize the images in photoshop and then upload to my site...ahhhh
I don't like to load too many things on the Mac, and especially don't like the Mac on the internet.

These are some quick images on the kitchen table. I also took some pictures of the strumtiger and a few side by side with the 1/18 Sherman

There should be output ratings on the charger, as well as voltage/amperage ratings on the battery, for example, 7.2V/1200 ma. The approximate charging time can be determined by dividing the battery's milliamp rating by that of the charger. For example, if the battery is rated 7.2V/1200 ma and the charger output is 7.2V/400 ma, charge time is about 3 hours. Go too long, and it can overheat, damaging the cells. Not long enough, and after a few "short" charges, and you reduce the battery's maximum operating time.scbvideoboy wrote:
According to the manual the panzer has sound. Charging the battery now, anybody know how long the battery should be charged as I see nothing in the manual.

Well I did it, charged up the batteries and tried all 3 rc tanks I got a few weeks ago.
Everything works which is good.
The speed is too fast, and the sound is ok, but it adds to the fun. The M-41 and Panzer 3 take the same 7.2 battery, the Strumtiger made by another company has a 9.6 battery and a different connector.
The strumtiger needs some extra mass, it's too light, it could really use a metal chassis.
The size is hard to tell on the pictures, but the strumtiger is about the same size as my 4 slice toaster.
I think I'll buy the metal track upgrades. Next up I'll take the tamiya's out and compare the sizes. This might motivate me to finish the 1/15 StuG IV I have.
