21st Century Toys news drought

It's been over a month since anything new has been posted on Area 21. you'd think we'd see something about the Mitchell...or anything!

Or a PAK-40 Hanomag or Me-262... Be patient. We should hear something in time for Christmas.

I tihnk TKO posted in the Direct from the source thread a couple of weeks ago. We might have gotten spoiled with news every week or so.

Posting something weekly is one thing

Post by ajeschke » Tue May 15, 2007 12:39 pm

but it's been a month now. You'd think they'd want to toot their horn for the B-25- or even more pictures of the King Tiger.

I hope we see the B-25 this year, but I am not holding my breath on that one. :(

You will find that a month in this hobby is not that long at all...

Also I agree with Sabrefan - can't imagine we will see the F-4 and B-25 by years end. It is mid-May with no sign of the 262..

I've grown used to this from 21st over the years, but Admiral was great about communicating with us until recently. All of this silence is sure taking the wind out of my collecting sails

Yea, what was the reason for this again? I know Mike vanished for about 6 months but that was to be expected. What happened with Jason?

I'm not sure myself. Have never seen it explained here in the forum as to why Jason pulled out. Moderators.....any insight?

I suspect that part of the reason that Jason stopped posting has to do with the fact that if Admiral announced something new, it was either followed by a "but ours will be better/cheaper/bigger and coming soon, too" response from 21st, or Admiral was criticized for building something that another manufacturer announced but never built. And in some cases, people would go crazy guessing about the next announcement and then be angry or upset when it wasn't what they were hoping for. This way, when something new is ready to debut, it's a surprise to everyone. Can't say I blame him. God knows that I won't announce my cold fusion reactor to the public until I can get the output steady at 2.1 gigawatts. Now where is that damn flux capacitor? Oops... didn't mean to put that in print...

I think you hit the nail on the head about Jason FD. He still comes and I do appreciate it so. That is one of the things that endears me to AT--they seem to be really interested in the collectors. Plus, they do make some kick but planes. Now--if I could only convince them that we need a Komet.

I think you might be on to something there but I'll bet they are also busy with the Dauntless, A-1, and F-4 on top of the 262 and Sabre repaints. Don't forget about the 1/72 scale line and the many offerings they have coming out in it. I'm sure all that adds up to a huge work load and we know how good Admiral Toys is about delivering their products.... :D I'm sure Jason will be back among us as always in time.
