I WANNA PAINT MY ME-262!!!

Post by Dubar1 » Mon Apr 30, 2007 7:05 pm

And I need some help.

I've seen a couple of paint jobs that look great and want to give it a go. I've found a few color profiles online, but would like to know if there's more online. The place I went was here:

http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/455/2

The books I have also have a few, but it seems like the same ones.

Are there any other websites that would help?

Thanks,
Bob

One of the best sources for paint schemes is Osprey's German Jet Aces of WWII. Though I have to say there are some discrepancies in it. If you look hard enough online you'll find stuff like this as well.

Search here by scale and aircraft.

If you do find one particular scheme you are interested in start searching for that specific aircraft because you'll almost certainly find more than one person's view of how it was painted.

Hey Bob be careful about using the Osprey books as a reference for painting your plane. Their profiles are good but some aint correct. Trust me I know from making paint corrections on my Mustangs by using the Osprey Books as a reference. With HHH and Old Crow I went directly to the source and that was Maj Petersons son, Merle Olmstead, and Jim Anderson. Eagle Strike is a good refernce though so use them before Ospreys books.

Thanks guys!!!

I'm in no hurry to do this so I want to look around some more. I favor the grey paint schemes over the green, but it looks like the green was the more common.
