KönigsTiger

Post by Moth » Fri Apr 13, 2007 4:15 pm

Check out Area-21, there are photos of the new KingTiger.

Looks great, but I am disappointed that there will be no opening engine (I think)
I would also have liked it to be bent and damaged a bit, like the Tiger I

Looks real good to me. 8) I hope it comes out in an ambush camo pattern like the Panther.

Is this the Henchell (sp?) turret ?

A light at the end of the tunnel! Or was that a muzzle flash? But it's great to see it's getting closer and looking very good!

Very nice :D The sculpting and detail on that tank looks awesome - even with the test-shots! That is one piece of armor I'll definitely add to my collection, even though I have not room for it

My only concern is where is the interior? I would really hope that 21c would go the extra yard with this massive tank and include one. Armored vehicles with interiors are so much more interesting - and that is what makes the Tiger, M-41, M2, M113, and halftracks so cool in my book! Nonetheless, I could easily see 21c ditching the interior feature as a cost-saving measure and production expedient to get this tank out faster to Wal Mart...

Still, the Kingtiger will be a definite "must-have" :D

I say pooh on all of you guys. I was walking the picket line at 21st to get this tank out ASAP and nobody stepped in to help carry the torch. :D

With the KT and the B-25 21C is going to new heights

Add to the mix a George Bush (or any Pacific) Avenger...Wow

Throw in a T-34/85 and I'll not complain or whine for another year.....I promise.....

What a beautiful tank! I love it! The only dissapointing detail seems to be that the turret isn't removable. This tank would be so much cooler with detailed interior, but thats what I've expected. They're saving some production costs.

It's nice to know there are few more people around that would like to see some Soviet armor in the mix. Imagine an IS-2 in 1/18 scale for a moment.... http://www.battlefield.ru/tanks/is2/is2_24.jpg It would be an awesome sight to behold bearing down on your cowering German XD figures and their puny PAK 40 gun...Arrgghhhh....CRUNCH...

Fabulous! Despite the apparent lack of interior detail, I'll take two anyway. Can't wait!

I hope that this beautiful beast comes out as fast as the Pak40 did after we seen the unpainted version with the pink dressings. :D

What a massive beast!

That tanker figure looks so puny standing next to tank, but appropriately so.

I'm looking forward to one in my hands, but my Allied ground XD is going to need something with a little more punch.

I'm still surprised we haven't seen a general release of a Panzer IV with sideskirts though. I wonder what gives.

We have seen a general release of the Panzer IV - just mostly without side skirts, but with R/C functions. All in all, 21c has actually released six paintschemes (and two variants) of the Panzer IV as both R/C and non-R/C, which when taken as a whole, makes it one of the largest runs of any 21c tank type as far as variants are concerned 8)

For comparison, there have been released thus far 5 variants (in paint & tooling) of the Hannomag, 5 paintschemes for the Sherman, 4 for the US Halftrack (in paint & tooling), 3 for the Tiger, 3 for the M113, 2 for the M-41, 2 for the M2 Bradley and 1 for the M-48.

Many of the RC Panzers eventually had to be discounted in order to sell at Wal Mart, so 21c may be reluctant to do any new Panzer IVs for the time being. However, I'm sure we'll see a non-RC version in the future

Yeah, I've often wondered why 21C chose the Panzer IV over the Sherman for their RC, ostensibly the Sherman should be at least somewhat more appealing (and better known) to the US market..??
