The worst wally in Ohio.

Post by tosborne3 » Mon Apr 09, 2007 4:32 am

 My wife and I wen't out yesterday to the wallys on Georgisville road to get our grocery shopping done, and I figured why not look in the toy section for the new D-day guys. We haven't been to that one here in Columbus for awhile because I never find anything new there. Well I go to the toy section and all they have is the same BoB guys that they've had all year long..... I was so disappointed. :x Every time we go to that one all thats in the toy aisle is a bunch of screaming brats and old dusty stock that should have been clearanced a long time ago. I vowed to my wife that we,ll go out of our way to not go to that particular wallys for awhile if ever. I hate shopping at wallys anyway.. Unfortunately wally's stores are the only retailer that carry x/d, so I'm forced to go to some of them. I'm a whiner though, and my wife told me "Why don't you go to that other wally in Hilliard instead of complaining!" I was still stewing about it though, but after some discussion she convinced me to drive out there. Ive had it up to "here" with wallys. I did get lucky and find two of the german dress uniform guys, but none of the others that I haven't gotten yet. I just don't understand why they don't just clearance the old stock so they can put out the new stock. But oh well. Hopefully one day some of the online stores will get all of the figures so I can avoid wallys for awhile. Feels really good to rant once in awhile. Thanks guys! Later. :D

I feel your pain. I'm up here in the Cleveland area and there's a few WM's up here like yours. I do have to say that I've been lucky finding some of the D-Day figures, but not all. And not enough on the shelf to be able to buy more than one.
In other posts, I've said that's it, I won't RANT about WM again...but then I do...I just can't help it. Like you, you drive far to get to a WM only to find out they have NOTHING-gets frustrating!
Bad Cats had a few D-Day figures, all are about gone now. Hopefully Smalljoes and other Online stores will get 'em.
Til then, let the rants go on! And even though I say I won't RANT about WM's again, it does feel good to get it off your chest here. There's ALOT of GOOD people here who listen!

I think Ohio is a complete dead zone for XD in general. I work in Cleveland, live in Youngstown. So between points A and B there are a good number of WMs, and I haven't seen anything other than a Sky Captain P-40 here and there for some time now. I think Macedonia has a German F-104 or two still.

I've only found eight of the new D-day fig so far. Acually I found nine, but passed on the one guy because he looks like the other tanker figs from the bob series. I"ll probally get him eventually just so I have at least one of every fig. :)

Wal-Mart's ?

Post by MG-42 » Mon Apr 09, 2007 10:43 am

I've been lucky thus far and the Wal-Mart's down here , except for maybe two of the recent new half-tracks , the M-16 and Pioneerwagon that I've yet to see appear here , may have just came and went , I don't know ,... really are'nt so bad. ..... You just have to get out and look cuz you don't know which one is going to have or get what. 8) +

>>> I've only seen one Pak-40 and one Stuka Zu Fuss here and I grabbed those.

WM is always a hit and miss for me. I find XD items at WM locations where I least expect to find them.

Don't feel alone.

I live in Arkansas - HOME of Wal-Mart, and the distribution of XD stinks.

I think I've mentioned before that the WM outside the MAIN GATE of the Air Force Base here (LRAFB) gets almost no XD of any kind.

VERY frustrating. I don't have the free time to run around town to visit the seven different WMs very often.

I live on the west coast, relatively near the ports of entry for alot of our Chinese-manufactured goods and for the most part, our stores are pretty dry when it comes to new stuff

Wal mart ranting is certainly our favorite subject on this board, isn't it? :P

I live in the deep south in the Hurricane areas. I guess they are scared to put anything out because of the Hurricane season. The proof was in the news when last seasons' storm hit and all of the local looters were doing there best to be on CNN news. Before the storm that Wal-Mart had some good sales. I bought about 4 of the 1/6 Stuarts on sale for $37.
 There are still 2-3 Wal-Marts that have yet to open and probably will never open again.
