"To an Englishman, 100 miles is a long way. To an American, 100 years is a long time."
My "local" shop is about 50-odd miles away , but I buy from there or other bricks-n-mortar retailers normally. Having said that, I might be ordering some stuff online in the not-to-distant future, but it's all been real-world so far...
Everyone Please read and help

Sometimes there is little other alternative if you have not been able to get one from a boardmember, your WM doesn't have it, or you are unwilling to take your chances on "the bay", besides...you CAN actually get a fairly good deal sometimes from an e-tailer, just try to catch the item on sale, closeout, or maybe a promotional opportunity such as free shipping. Just a thought.I have never bought from an on-line retailer like a badcat or small joes.

Then consider yourself extremely fortunate, because you've pulled off a coup that very few others around these parts have been able to duplicate I would venture to say. Hey, if it works for you... what's not to like.I've gotten just about every new release and I've never bought from an online retailer. I've never done it because I've never had the need.

Where I buy From...
I always buy online, once and a while from Waly-mart...I bought a MiG from them two weeks ago and the box was a disaster, I asked for some sort of discount and they said no...Very Rude...But of course I still bought it anyway, being the XD fan that I am... ""My girlfriend is standing in back of me, all mad...Another friggin Plane, I'm tired of this"" Oh well she just has to deal with it, b/c my 1:18 collection isn't going anywhere, anytime soon...

Truthfully, I kind of split my purchases between local stores and on-line, but I also collect a wider variety than just 1/18.
For 1/6, I pretty much have no choice but online.
For 1/18, I generally buy from a local store, but sometimes add a piece or two if I'm already ordering something else.
For 1/72, it runs about 50/50. My local store is GREAT about ordering anything I want, but he can't get most Aircraft, so I order alot of those online.
For 1/700, again, my local store will get me anything he can, but some stuff he just can't get.
I try to support my local game store first, my online stores second, Target third and Wal-Mart last.
