I am really hoping that 21stCT will re-release the Huey and Cobra with the figures.

I really think the extra arms theory should be explored more, even with other body parts...This whole scene would be doable with some static legs mixed in, but never with just articulation.

This was discussed a LONG time ago - I hope it finally comes to be. 8)

I think Digger's idea is pretty cool, i like the extra arms, legs, accesories, heads, helmets...so static legs, arms and heads would also be a cool addtion. Additionally, the ball joint idea would be nice. Moreover, removable flak jackets would be aswome!!!!!

Given TKO's clue, I would imagine they are using ball-joint hips or perhaps something like the 3 3/4" GI Joe figures with the rubberband torso construction that allows for a much greater degree of movement - especially in the hip and waist area. Done just about every other type of articulation.

Hmmm, I gotta say that if it's something like O-Ring style design I'll be disappointed.

And ball/socket torsoes are being done by Hasbro semi-routinely in Star Wars and of course GI Joe had that pioneered, literally, decades ago... So either 21st is just not aware of what Hasbro's done for years and years or that's not it...

Same applies to the ball/socket hip joints, which Hasbro doesn't do for Star Wars hardly ever, but can do it well when they have tried. The last figure with that was a Clone and it looked great and really did add a lot to the poseability.

I love the format they have with the D-Day figures. To me they're ideal... a set of posed arms, a set of poseable arms, and super poseable legs (or as good as 21st is able to do I think).

If they go with something like O-Rings and stuff, I'll be disappointed. I like how things are now actually. Figures look amazing and pose great. A perfect balance for me. Hate to see things regress any.

Now Hasbro, make us some Head Sculpt & Endor Uniform variations! The new Rebel Fleet Trooper gets the JJ Seal of Approval Though!

Maybe it is helmets with removable cigarette packs with removable cigarettes.

Or a sheet of rub-on tatoos that comes with ea. fig.

Actually, I think the hip joint is a really natural guess as stated above. Opening backpacks would be cool, or guns with slings, or holsters, or maybe removable grenades.

what about the same head sculpt face but one looking like a rookie "cherry", the other one looking like battle harden and the other one loooking tired or wounded.

As if it was a transition of the figure through time?.....

what do you guys think?

My guess is that it would come with some sort of comic book like many retro lines are doing (Hasbro,Marvel, DC, etc...). Maybe they will have a better identity than just their names.

Or it could be one of the following:
1)The new features would be that they come with diapers because they poop chocolate, right?
2) Neon colors, this way parents will buy them because they would seem as if they did not promote war and violence like the '90s GI Joe.

No I'm afraid you've all got it wrong!

21stCT was able to obtain the miniaturisation machine from Fantastic Voyage (1966) and have shrunk all their 1/6th products to 1/18th scale. That would explain why 21stCT is no longer making 1/6th stuff

Just imagine full articulation and correctly scaled fabric uniforms, as a bonus there will also be a 1/18th scale Kettenkraftrad, Schwimmwagen and White Scout Car available soon.

I found this picture on the 21st century toys area 51 portion of their website. It is of the ground crew supporting the 1-18th scale F-4U Corsair. The type of articulation being used on these figs I think is what will be seen on the 1-18th platoon figs.

I think it would be cool if they put those new little neomidium (sp?) magnets in the hands and weapons so they hold them securely. I'm tired or always picking up weapons that eventually drop out of the hands because the hands dont grip them tight enough. That's not really radical but I think would be an inprovement.

I like the ground crew and accessories, but their articualtion looks fairly standard for the recent releases. There was mention of a new articulation, never used for 1:18 scale figs before. Even the magnet-in-hand gimmick was done with Star Wars Ep II figures.
