BBI Sherman $19.98 at TRU

Post by grunt1 » Sat Mar 17, 2007 6:16 am

They appear to have re-stocked them since yesterday when they ran out.

Thought this was important enough to post again given the price. Not sure how long it will last..

Appears it would be $9.98 if you used Google Checkout?

Google checkout is for 10.00 off 30.00 - so you gotta add something or somethings to get over that 30.00. Plus the google is for NEW customers.

They have some Star Trek and Battlestar Galacticia figures in the clearance section.

Too early on a Saturday morning, I guess.
No 30.00 minimum. Just 10.00 off.
Sorry.

Got my order in for one as well. $19 is a pretty good price considering they were being sold for $39 at one time. :D

Yeah, I'm in on this one-too good to pass up, and it will make a nice "reinforcement" for my die-cast 21st Sherman. I was hoping to find one in store on sale last weekend in Chicago or today in Mishwaka, but not a one to be seen. I asked today about it, and apparently they do have a few on-line only specials.
The Mishawaka TRU still has a pretty large display of military stuff near the front of the store, including a decent restock of the MH-6 Night Stalker, but the corner where they usually have the stuff was pretty bare except bbi figures (no new ones)--the Elite Operations recall put a real dent in their selection.

I ordered my earlier today and accidently added overnight or three day shipping as the total came out to $28.99 with the 10 bucks off - so I had to call and cancle the order - finally picked it up tonight - had to use a different email and card as I had lost the original offer for the $10 bucks off - deal too good to pass!!

Did anyone get their "Shipped" e-mail yet?

Post by nfafan » Wed Mar 21, 2007 4:31 am

Got mine, due tomorrow. Notice that the e-mail will not show the Google ckout discount, just TRU sale full price. Keep your eye on your CC bill!

I got my tank from TRU last night.
WOW! Very fast shipping.
Strange, the BBI Tank came in an orange box instead of the normal blue.
Same Sherman w/ driver and accessories...:?

I noticed that too from an e-mail I received from TRU. Thanks for the Google link. I think there might be a problem with getting that $10 discount reflected on our cc statements too.

I want to paint one OD - I have so many and I don't need them all winter. Problem is the gear is IMPOSSIBLE to get off (or damn near). Any ideas? Maybe I should spray the whole thing and then paint back over the gear? Pretty annoying this thing was never given a different paint scheme...

I agree on the tank not being in OD green, especially when it was re-released. It would go much better with their D-day infantry and paratroopers...

However, you may be able to mask some of the gear off using tape, or better yet, some sort of clay or putty. You could put the clay over the stowage and carefully work it down to cover the part. Then spray the tank and remove the clay. It seems I recall someone doing something similar around here. I have not done it, but it seems like it could work

I got an email today saying my order has been canceled. They had already taken my money from my bank account the other day.

Thank you for your recent purchase from Toys"R"Us & Babies"R"Us!

However when I click on the order number it said canceled due to incorrect or no order number.

Anybody else received this message.

yep - my statement says it was shipped 3-20-07 and shows the full price charged to toys r us.
so TRU is saying this is a google problem -

what else has everyone done about this - what appears the easiest way to get with customer no service?

I will not play this game with google and TRU -

This deal of a deal seems to be turning into one big headache. I'm waiting to see what charge appears on my cc statement before I make any moves.

I will start my calls with TRU customer service tomorrow and post the response - I think I'm at a disadvantage as I first used the credit card but had to cancle that order - when i tried a second time I was unable to get the google discount - so i used my debit (no customer protection) card...

This may be a situation where Google gives you a $10 discount in the future? or perhaps the small print somewhere stated this was a $10 gift card for Bed bath and beyond???

But basically Google is not a search engine agency - they are an advertisement business who happens to also run a search engine

and they are not silly enough to mess with this forum!!!

Are you with me Spartans!!!???

Tonight we will dine in XD!!!

MIne arrived today, but the packing slip only shows the unit price--no shipping or google discounts. I check the credit card I used, and it the charge hasn't showed up there yet, so I have no clue yet whether I got the $10 off or not. Google checkout says yes. The truth remains to be seen.

Naaahhh.... A little saber rattling is good for the soul. Keeps the neighbors humble and out of your yard.
