ParatrooperCarbine, looks like you may have to relist the items, but its better than loosing them to that scumbag.

Awesome! I wonder how they caught him. I called eBay and they said they could not do anything until he violated an eBay policy.

Maybe what they told you was a standard public response, but behind the seens you may have got the ball rolling.

A good result none the less.

Could be. Especially if the other sellers contacted them.

Um...

I realize this seems crazy, but [email protected] just emailed me again! This time asking if I had a BBI Hornet to trade. As if he forgot who I am and everything that happened???

And he even did it from the old [email protected] address!

he gets kicks from stuff like that - sending you friendly emails or asking for good trader feedback just to be a d^ck - don't let him get to you or take him seriously. For him it's more than the stealing, it's the fun of pissing people off. That's why a beating is most deserving

It would be VERY unfortunate if we let this put us off trading here or using eBay. Most of the traders here are great, and on eBay this guy was the buyer, not seller.

I believe most of the people in this hobby are ok. Delta stands out for being the exception.

FYI

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Mon Jan 24, 2005 7:55 pm

Just got this from [email protected]:

Hi,
This is sort of a form letter that I'm sending this to
everyone who's e-mail addresses I had had in my
notebook, I've had to reformat my pc's hard drive etc
and lost a lot of my info etc. Anyway, all of these
contacts came from my buyers/sellers/trader's list but
I don't know who's who since I unfortunately did not
have names etc that pertained to each, so if you all
would send me back your name, nick name etc I can get
back in the game asap! Please let me know any special
items that you're looking for and I will see if I have
them, I have aquired lots of new items and am looking
forward to hearing from you all. Also, please notice
I've addressed each e-mail individually to assure each
of you your privacy. If I have already contacted you
about this and already have your name etc, please
disregard this e-mail, nuff said:)
Thank you,
-jw

Man this guy has gotta be put down seriously. The guy is nothing but a sleeze, double crossing everyone he comes in contact with. I mean really, he isn't even good at it, he is just a spaz ripping people off with petty crimes. The amazing thing is that no matter how many times and ways he gets busted he still comes back and pleads ignorance. Seriously an open invite to his entire e-mail address welcoming people back for another round of his garbage? The guy has got a screw loose.

What surprises me is the apparent number of fellow miscreants involved. I don't think the woman I talked to last week and the woman I talked to in December are the same, and there was the "confused old man", the guy himself, and possibly others. These emails appear to come either from 2 separate people or from one person who needs some Lithium. I wonder how many are active participants and how many just know, aid passively, and don't care that he is ripping people off?

Just got an email from that user stating they want to back out of the transaction due to problems with PayPal.

Big shock....

Ivy Tech

Not to be a college snob, but Ivy Tech has one of those lack luster images here in the Miami Valley. Anyhow, PC, if you need me to do some leg work around here let me know.

Well, I guess driving to their house and kicking them is out of the question, but thank you for the offer!

And the college appears to employ thieves, so that tends to support your "snobbery".

I also have relatives I visit in Xenia(near Dayton)once a year. With a little planning we could have a regular brute squad!I would really like to see this bastard get what he deserves.

Not Quite

Post by Quixote511 » Sun Jan 30, 2005 8:06 am

I had a different type of leg work in mind, ie running errands. However, a little po-lock justice never hurts.

Update

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Mon Jan 31, 2005 8:24 am

Well... the echeck bounced, of course.

Shortly before I got the notification, she emailed me to say she had decided not to follow through and asked me to "cancel her order". It is clearly a pattern for these people to pretend not to understand how things work, both on eBay and on the GPXD board, presumably in an attempt to seem like stupid people instead of scammers.

dnapier_99 is no longer a registered eBay user. And evidently this prevents me from leaving them their much-deserved scathing negative...
