Well I finally broke down and purchased a 21st F-86 from WM. I had been holding out for the Huff, but Mitch Squitch was on clearance for $30.00 and I am a sucker for a good deal so now it's mine.

I stopped by the WM on Precinct Line in Hurst...and found two tiger striped MiGs there. Bought one and left one with a repairable scratch in the top of the canopy. I also had a small conversation with the toy section manager, who happened to be nearby. What I found out was basically this. WM never got the "Huff" F-86 in this area. Orders were not completed by Xmas time, and consequently stopped. WM has yet to announce any new 1/18th stuff because the buyers have been concentrating on spring stuff. Most all of the 1/18th vehicles and aircraft are in short supply because most have been sent to the "clearance" isles and marked down. The difference between mark-down prices is because each manager is given a "budget" of discount monies, and individual toy managers choose what they want to discount and move out. This manager had several M113 and PkIV R/C tanks marked down to $35.00....and depending on available mark-down money later, will take these down to $20 or $15.00 in the not too distant future if they continue to reside on the shelves. He also verified that the Burleson WM still has a couple of Avengers marked down to $30.00 each. My MiG cost $30.00 (the scratched one will go down 10% less if a buyer just asks). When I mention the new aircraft 21C is coming out with, the manager was excited and is making inquires. Seems he's a closet 1/18th collector himself and promised to try for an answer within a week. Cross your fingers, but he said that having dedicated buyers in an area could greatly help in getting new stock in the near future. I'll be checking back with him....often!

Good to see the red nosed Migs in the New Orleans area. I still have not seen any Chinese Migs here in Lafayette.

I found the Russian Mig in Fresno over the weekend as well, but they were at Hobbytown USA and at the $60 retail price. It is a neat scheme, but I think I still like the North Korean scheme better.

Patience paid off. I found (and bought) "the Huff" F-86 at Wal-Mart in Brea, CA. It was the last one. Has anyone seen the Russian Mig anywhere in SoCal????

Russian MIG S3 is now popping up in southwest metro atlanta area - even in places were the North Korean one still sits on clearance.
Also hearing about the Huff showing up with new figures -
maybe we have been making way too much about the off toy season -
I honestly like the North Korean one better than the russian one - not much difference - out of the three I like the 1st one best - the Chinese would have been good If I hadnt found the first one -
Now to find a Huff

Yesterday went to a WM in Lewisville and found a few jets just waiting to be put on clearance:
4 Tiger Migs
4 NK Migs
6 F-86
2 - Smoke II 104s
Now, its just a matter of wait and see when they go on clearance!

Found two "Huff" F-86s at the Wal Mart on the north side of Fresno, Ca.

These are the first new 1:18 planes this particular store has recieved since the middle of 2006 (though they have gotten some of the 32x stuff). The F-86s were full price. The "Huff" scheme looked great in person, and the nose art was very well done. The yellow trimming on the droptanks is also a nice touch! I didn't pick one up, however, as I already have two F-86s (AT's "Jolley Roger" and 21c's "Mitch's Squitch") and don't have the space for more
I wonder when, of if, the Russian Migs will show at a Wal Mart in my area. They are at the Hobbytown store, but are a little steep in price at $70...

Picked up a series 3 Russian Mig-15 at a Pompano Beach, FL Wal-Mart.
It was the only 1:18 aircraft in the store.
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

There were two Russian Mig 15s at the Walmart I went by today. I picked one up, and just put it together. The silver paint is really nice on this one. Looks like I got a good one.

I took my Russian Mig-15 outside to take some pictures of it, and it looks really good. The silver paint is flawless, and I had a blast taking a whole lot of pictures of it.

Huh. I missed that one. I went on Tuesday I think. I did find some of the new figures in the Margate store. I grabbed the DAK guys and left the rest.

Found two Mitch's Squitch F-86's at the Battle Creek walmart. I already have this one and the Huff, otherwise I would've snatched one of them.

I love the Russian scheme on the Mig-15. It is one of my favorite models, and it looks great on my shelf.
