Ok, you all have been more than patient. We have decided to give you a glimpse of the aircraft that will be shown at toy fair. This may, or may not be the aircraft that you have been guessing on. It is a totally new aircraft.
First hint, a glimpse:
1.
I will give another view in a couple of days. I had to give you all something to do at work besides playing solitaire.
Regards,
Jason

So my official guess is a P-39.
Remember I said it first!

We should all get our heads examined for OCD... But it HAS been fun! And you notice that we still have weeks to go before official confirmation... knowing Jason, that picture is the chase plane going after the actual plane (zoom in real real close--maybe there is a reflection!).STUKA wrote:we should all get a free plane
Now about that A-10... Jason???

Don’t worry. I will show you the entire aircraft at the end of next week. And then we can start this game over after the holiday break. We might just have yet another aircraft to show in pieces.
I will show another part of the aircraft at the beginning of each day this week. That is on my schedule. I do not know when I will be up. All depends on when we get to bed around here. China is on a different time zone.
So at least you have actual photos of the aircraft. It sure is better then trying to understand my really bad hints. Regarding the hint game, I will be forthcoming with all my hints next year. That is not too far off. Maybe that is a hint about this aircraft?
Regards,
Jason

Texan or Dauntless. Likely Texan.Jason of Admiral Toys wrote:Ok, you all have been more than patient. We have decided to give you a glimpse of the aircraft that will be shown at toy fair. This may, or may not be the aircraft that you have been guessing on. It is a totally new aircraft.

Yes it kind of looks like the protruding leading wheel well of the a Texan / Harvard, and it also llooks like you can see the cowl flaps and with what looks to be a circular cross section I'm still going with my first guess, I'm glad someoen can see it.
However it does not appear to be in the list that I compiled earlier?
Jason thanks for getting yourself an avitar.

Yes, now I see it's not a P-39
It's something with a radial... wouldnt it be funny if its a Brewster Buffalo? I love that thing, it looks cute and harmless
Actually, I think it looks like a Dauntless no? But Jason said it has nothing to do with a splash, so that's out...
Well, I am offically lost

from that picture it looks like a low wing monoplane, not a radial, since the underside of the cowl is tapering up. The 'intake' could be the leading edge of the undercarriage wheel well, although it does seem too far forward on the wing leading edge. But it looks too far back from the leading edge to be any kind of air intake.
If it's the u/c wheel well, there is no wheel cover, suggesting it's an early war aircraft.
What's that horizontal line, running the length of the picture just under the intake/wheel well?
Of course it's possible this is not a single engine plane and that's the wing/nacelle join we're seeing. Although normally the wing enters at the mid point of a nacelle whereas this is clearly entering at the bottom.
The picture seems to be oriented correctly (as opposed to being upside down, on its side etc).

i never met an airplane i didn't like...
Well the absence of an exhaust stub would also not support a Texan / Harvard but would support a Ca13 Boomerang now that would be a unique tangent to follow but probably very unlikely.
The laGG's family also has a high probability now and maybe even a Fiat G50 is in the running.
